- How the Quran was preserved How the quran was preserved during the time of the prophet peace be upon him. This is a long lecture , I will upload only the first part of it ,unfortunately the rest of it, is not clear For more lectures by shiek Navaid Aziz . go to: www.answering- The original m***cript of the Quran does not have the signs indicating the vowels in Arabic script. These vowels are known as tashkil, zabar, zair, paish in Urdu and as fatah, damma and qasra in Arabic. The Arabs did not require the vowel signs and diacritical marks for correct pronunciation of the Quran since it was their mother tongue. For Muslims of non-Arab origin, however, it was difficult to recite the Quran correctly without the vowels. These marks were introduced into the Quranic script during the time of the fifth Umayyad Caliph, Malik-ar-Marwan (66-86 Hijri/685-705 CE) and during the governorship of Al-Hajaj in Iraq. Some people argue that the present copy of the Quran that we have along with the vowels and the diacritical marks is not the same original Quran that was present at the Prophets time. But they fail to realize that the word Quran means a recitation. Therefore, the preservation of the recitation of the Quran is important, irrespective of whether the script is different or whether it contains vowels. If the pronunciation and the Arabic is the same, naturally, the meaning remains the same too.

- Malabar by Linotype Malabar is a type family for extensive text. Its design was developed with a nod toward newspapers. Malabar's characters are seriffed and of the oldstyle genre. A strong diagonal axis is apparent within the curves. Sturdy serifs help strengthen the line of text in small point sizes, as well as define the overall feeling of the face. Malabar's x-height is very high, a deliberate choice that makes the most important parts of lowercase letters visibly larger in tiny settings. The height of the capital letters is also rather diminutive, allowing for better character fit, as well as eliminating a bit of clumsiness in German, which often includes quite a few uppercase letters. Diacritical marks and additional alphabetic forms required by many Western, Central, and Eastern European languages are naturally a part of the character set, including those needed in the Baltic states, for Romanian, and for Turkish. Malabar's accents are bold and direct, sitting well with their base glyphs. The family includes three weights, each with a companion Italic. Malabar Regular is equipped with small caps, and both it and Malabar Italic include oldstyle figures. All members of the family have both proportional and tabular-width lining figures, as well as special variants of certain punctuation marks vertically adjusted for all-caps text setting. Malabar is informed both by contemporary ideas of typeface design (sheared terminals, the wider-drawn s) as well as by 16th-century masters. Malabar ...

Read the full blog here: This blog preview was made by TravelPod using the TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow creator. Entry from: Honolulu, United States Entry Title: "Diamond Head" Entry: "Honolulu - Diamond Head Our objective today was to explore majestic Diamond Head. While making the original plans for our trip we decided that due to its extensive public transportation system, we did not need to rent a car on the island of Oahu. That decision did not last long, as the convenience of having a car outweighed any savings in using the public bus system. Therefore, before leaving for Hawaii, we reserved a car with Budget to be picked up at Honolulu International Airport by 10:00 today. Our experience yesterday of sitting for over an hour on a crowded bus to get to Pearl Harbor only seemed to make the prospects of getting a car that much more appealing. On our way back from Pearl Harbor, we also came to the realization that traffic can be quite heavy in Honolulu. The thought of spending another hour on a bus to pick up a rental car at busy Honolulu International Airport was an experience to be avoided. We therefore scrambled to try and get a rental car near our hotel. All the major car rental companies however had none available. We resorted to looking in the Yellow Pages to find a local company called VIP Car Rentals. I was skeptical because the name seems a lot like the "Acme Corporation", the fictitious mail order ...
- Dhikr Accompanied With Al-Burda - Shaykh Muhammad Al-Ya'qoubi Shaykh Muhammad Al-Ya'qoubi blesses us with his voice as he sings some lines from The Burda of Al-Busiri (The Poem of the Cloak). Translation of the lines sung: Muhammad, lord of both worlds, lord of both species, Lord of both assemblages - Arabs and all others. Our Prophet, commander of right, forbidder of wrong- No soul kept his word more justly, whether "Yes" or "No." He is the beloved whose intercession is hoped for As arms against a host of relentless calamities. He called on God. Whoever clings to him Clings to a rope that will never unravel nor break. His form and character surpassed even the previous prophets, And none have approached him in knowledge or nobility. They all seek from the Messenger of God Cupfuls from his ocean or sips from his unceasing rain. They all stand before him according to their limits, As if dots on his knowledge or diacritical marks on his wisdom. He is the one whose meaning and form were perfected, And then the Originator of souls chose him as the beloved. Incomparable, his beauty has no peer- The essence of beauty itself is in his nature. Leave aside what the Christians have claimed for their Prophet- Then praise him as you like, but do so wisely. Ascribe to his essence what you wish of honor, Attribute to his exalted status what you will of his greatness! Truly, the Messenger of God's bounty Cannot be overstated by two lips and a tongue. If a miracle could equal his stature in magnitude, The mere mention of his name would revive ...

- ea arda ainulindale Ainulindalë (Quenya, "Music of the Ainur" or, more literally, "Singing of the Holy") is the first section and chapter of The Silmarillion. In Tolkien's legendarium, the Ainur (Angels) are Middle-earth's divine beings. In Heaven, before Time, they compose a Great Music. This Music is revealed to be the template, or blueprint, commensurable with the entire history of Middle-earth (beginning to end). The Music of the Ainur is later made manifest by a single-word command of Ilúvatar's (God). Pronounced [ˌainuˈlindalɛ], the final 'e' bears the diacritical mark ¨, which is not used like the Germanic umlaut, but only to show that the vowel is not silent (in Quenya, 'e' is always short, as in English pet).

- Aeneas meets his mother Venus A reading of a passage from the first book of the Aeneid, verses 305--410, in the original Latin. The diacritical marks on the vowels are used in the following manner: All long vowels are marked with macrons, while all short syllables (note the distinction!) are marked with breves. This has the implication that unmarked vowels are those that are short but which stand in a syllable long by position. Elided vowels are in grey.

I know of complete books dealing with al-waqf wa alibtidaa in the entire Quran ie books that lay out essentially four kinds of pauses: (1) complete, (2) good, (3) sufficient, and (4) bad / ugly. Scholars have set down rules to determine each of these pauses. - Diacritical - Ignorance "Ignorance" is a song against racism and discrimination from Diacritical's 2007 self titled release. Produced by Don Zientara. Though this is an old song (composed in 1996) it seems to stay relevant. The song is featured in Eyesteelfilms documentary about Taqwacore, and is referenced in a Time magazine article Though many people believe the song is a reaction to the recent blossoming bud of islamophobia, the song was meant to be a call against all forms of inequality and intolerance, ***ism, racism, homophobia and class-ism included. Lyrics: What if I could see you Would you say to me All the time You've been so cold I've hid inside And if words could mend your eyes I'd scream a thousand times I'd scream a thousand times Why do you hate ...and you could hide behind you mask and raise your hand in wicked rhymes and hear me scream a thousand times Why do you hate me Stop the hate.
