Cryopump Gas Depressurization Procedure Removing Helium Gas Pressure From Cryopump with the Austin Cryogenics Tool Kit
Deep Vein Thrombosis: Flight Related or Hypobaric As air is invisible, it is quite a difficult concept to imagine that we all do live in an ocean of pressurized air. Our very existence is dependent on this pressurized environment. Our body tissues are in a state of pressure equilibrium with our surrounding air pressure. Hence it is not really surprising that a sudden loss of this air pressure, will present a major challenge for our bodys pressure equilibrium systems. Sea level air pressure is 760 mmHg, and only 20 minutes after taking off, cabin air pressure has been reduced to only 560 mmHg; a loss of 200 mmHg. It is the subsequent tissue depressurization of 200 mmHg that causes a fluid volume shift to occur, from the central circulation to the peripheral tissues. It is this peripheral fluid shift that causes the very common problem of peripheral oedema. In particular this tissue depressurization affects the most gravity-dependent ankles and feet of so many long-haul passengers in the hypobaric cabin environment. Our blood vessels have a high component of hydrostatic pressure. Hence during cabin decompression they suffer a relatively smaller percentage decrease in pressure than our bodys other pressurized tissue compartments. This causes a movement of fluid out of the vessel capillaries s into the relatively more depressurized extracellular fluid compartment. Photoplethysmographic measurement of the venous function in commercial airline passengers revealed total venous failure in our subjects, only 30 minutes after ...

False Alarm Delays Spacewalk Atlantis crew members Michael Foreman and Randy Bresnik floated outside the International Space Station for a six-hour spacewalk on Saturday after a false alarm disrupted their sleep. A false depressurization alarm went off shutting down ventilation fans. A new Russian docking module that arrived at the station on November 12, seemed to be the source of the problem. Foreman and Bresnik were sleeping inside the station's Quest airlock when alarms indicated a rapid depressurization of the station. It took the crew about an hour to get the fans working again, prompting NASA to cancel the spacewalkers' sleepover. The sleep was intended to purge nitrogen from their bodies to prevent a dangerous condition known as the bends. Instead, Foreman and Bresnik put on oxygen masks and exercised vigorously on stationary bicycles to rid their bodies of nitrogen before beginning the shortened spacewalk. NASA is stocking the outpost with equipment in hopes of keeping it operational after the US space agency's shuttles stop flying next year. During Saturday's spacewalk, Foreman and Bresnik worked to install communications antennas and set up a cargo attachment mechanism to the station's truss.

Southwest Airlines Tribute *****PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION***** This tribute is dedicated to the crew of SWA2294. Southwest flight 2294 from Nashville International Airport to Baltimore-Washington International Airport was forced to divert to Charleston, after a hole formed on the top of the plane's fuselage near the tail resulting in depressurization of the cabin and deployment of the oxygen masks. All 133 passengers and crew landed safely and a spare plane was flown in to take the passengers to Baltimore and on to Buffalo. This crew exucuted everything perfectly and made a successful landing in West Vrginia, well done SWA!
BLEVE Mechanism Under rapid heating (for example, from a pool fire engulfing the tank), a tank containing pressurized liquid may fail suddenly producing an explosive effect. The liquid in the tank absorbs energy from the surrounding fire and heats up rapidly. The resulting increased rate of vaporization produced increases the ullage pressure. When this pressure exceeds a certain limit (characteristic of the material properties of the tank wall, wall thickness and temperature), the tank fails. The liquid released from the tank boils rapidly and expands. The resulting explosion may fragment the tank into pieces and propel them over large distances. If the hazmat is flammable, it may ignite and form a fireball posing additional hazard. This phenomenon is called a BLEVE or Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion. BLEVE accounts for the following key coupled processes: * heat transfer: - from flame to tank - from tank walls to the liquid and vapour phases - between liquid and vapour phases * thermodynamic transformations within the tank and pressure build-up * activation of pressure relief valve (or PRV) and venting * wall stresses and material property degradation * tank failure * depressurization of liquid upon tank failure with concomitant thermodynamic transformations
SPACE SHUTTLE ATLANTIS AND RUSSIAN SPACE STATION MIR The US Space Shuttle Atlantis (STS-86) and the Russian Space Station Mir were filmed together over Sacramento, California, on October 3, 1997. MIchael Foale was the fifth NASA astronaut to reside on Mir - replacing Jerry Linenger. (Linenger dealt with a severe fire while living on the Mir.) Foale arrived at the Russian space station with the crew of STS-84 aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis, which launched on May 15, 1997. Foale's mission proceeded normally until June 25, when during a test of a manual docking system, a Russian Progress resupply ship collided with Mir's Spektr module, causing a depressurization of the space station. The crew closed the hatch to Spektr, which stabilized the station's air pressure, while Spektr's pressure dropped to a vacuum. The collision knocked Mir into a spin, at a rate of about once every six minutes - the crewmembers were eventually able to stabilize the station. Many of Foale's experiments and personal effects were isolated within Spektr. Fortunately, food, water and other vital Mir supplies were stored in other modules. Later in the mission, Foale and Russian cosmonaut Soloviev conducted a 6-hour EVA to inspect the damage to the punctured Spektr. STS-86 performed the seventh Shuttle-Mir docking and transferred the sixth US Mir astronaut David Wolf, in exchange for Michael Foale, who returned to Earth after 145 days in space on October 6, 1997.

Pilot training. Recognition of hypoxia The FAA test their 30000' altitude simulating enclosure. This breakthough system, developed by Colorado Altitude Training (CAT) creates a stable, controlled simulated altitude by reducing the oxygen content so the partial pressure of oxygen is the same as would be experienced at an elevation of up to 30000'. Unlike a hypobaric chamber, this normobaric hypoxic system does not involve any pressure change so avoids any risk of decompression sickness. Test subjects can simply enter or exit at will, .. many times in a row if they wish. There are numerous other advantages of this system compared with a hypobaric chamber, including cost, convenience and safety. Plus it's a whole lot more pleasant to use than being locked into a low-pressure vault!

Impenetrable ***pit doors www.secure- "The Principle of the Door:" According to law enforcement trainers, given enough time, any door can be compromised. Boeing has stated that constructing an impenetrable ***pit door is not possible. Boeing also has voiced its concerns over structural problems resulting from a sealed ***pit during a rapid cabin depressurization. Since a depressurization is most likely to occur aft of the ***pit, a sudden loss of cabin pressure requires the ***pit door to vent to equalize pressure. Boeing states that if ***pit doors are tightly sealed, as much as 6000 pounds of force could be applied to the ***pit floor during a cabin depressurization resulting in buckling of the ***pit floor and damage to or failure of flight control cables beneath it. Additionally, during flights of any significant duration, the ***pit door will need to be opened in flight. Considering the truism that any door can be compromised given enough time and determination and the special technical problems associated with ***pit doors, we will never be able to depend upon ***pit doors to stop terrorist teams.

Airbus A380 Tail Strike Test [VMU Test] Tailstrike is an aviation term that describes an event in which the rear end of an aircraft touches (strikes) the runway. This can happen during takeoff of a fixed-wing aircraft if the pilot pulls up too rapidly, leading to the rear end of the fuselage touching the runway. It can also occur during landing if the pilot flares too aggressively. This is often the result of an attempt to land nearer to the runway threshold. A tailstrike is physically possible only on an aircraft with tricycle landing gear; with a tail dragger configuration, the tail is already on the ground. Some delta wing aircraft, which require a high angle of attack on takeoff, are fitted with small tailwheels to prevent tailstrikes. Examples include the Concorde and Saab Draken. Some aircraft, such as the Diamond Aircraft Industries Diamond DA20, have a permanent skid installed to protect the airframe in the event of a tailstrike. Others may be fitted with a temporary skid as tailstrikes are sometimes purposefully carried out during the certification of new aircraft. Tailstrike incidents rarely cause significant damage or cause danger, but may cause financial losses as the planes have to be thoroughly inspected and repaired. However, improper repair to the damaged airframe after tailstrikes accidents may be responsible for fatal accidents that occur years later (including the worst single-aircraft accident as of 2008, the accident involving the Japan Airlines Flight 123) due to structural failure of the ...

Effects Of Explosive Cabin Decompression On Crew This shows a passenger can be ejected by explosive decompression, that is why the B-29 had a cage to keep crew from being shot out is explosive decompression occurs. It is pretty much a myth that a small handgun can cause explosive decompression. Under normal conditions most commercial and military aircraft have enough margin of error (extra strength), that in most cases a small caliber gun is just going to make a small hole and make no noticeable cabin pressure lose. The occupant is not sucked out. The higher relative pressure inside the cabin pushes the passenger out. Suck is not a real technical term in physics. You can't really pull on air; you can push on air and do push it. If you keep your seatbelts fastened, then even if there were to be an explosive decompression, you would still remain inside. Most passenger aircraft the windows are too small to have an adult to be easily be blown out. Depressurization lift you up? Not normally. Gravity is still a factor. Assuming the plane is upright and pulling 1 positive G in a normal attitude. If you were in a stairwell and an overhead window blew out, then it is possible you could be blown directly upward. But I can't think off hand of any aircraft that is configure in a way that is likely. The closest I can think of is a case like is a cabin failure like. . Flight 243 I doubt the depressurization blast itself would normally be powerful enough to lift you up enough to blow you out. But the ...
Cabin Depressurization Causes Release of Oxygen Masks on Qantas Flight For more news & videos visit ☛ An incident on a Qantas domestic flight to Melbourne Tuesday... the plane suddenly dropped 26000 feet mid-air. The sudden drop in pressure inside the cabin caused the oxygen masks to release. This is the latest in a series of mishaps on Australia's national carrier. A Qantas airplane encountered a mechanical fault mid-flight on Tuesday, forcing pilots to rapidly descend after the cabin depressurized. Masks were released from above the passengers as the Boeing 737 airliner descended to 10000 feet. The actual cause is not yet known, but a possible air-conditioning fault could have been the reason, according to a Qantas spokesperson. The incident caused concern among the 99 passengers aboard the Melbourne-bound flight. [Julie Chau, Passenger] "It was like, this is like a movie scene or something, yeah and I thought we were really unsafe. I didn't know what was happening." [Liza Vallely, Passenger]: There was a bang and there was a bit of a really muffled sound. Next thing we know, turbulence and the air masks dropped down and no one knew whether to grab them or whether it was a mistake and then we just hear this sort of pre-recorded voice saying "Emergency, emergency, please sit in the closest vacant seat and fasten your seat belts." No one was injured and the plane landed safely at Melbourne Airport. In November last year, Qantas grounded its entire A380 fleet after a Rolls-Royce engine exploded on a flight shortly after ...

APOLLO 15 - SEVA DEPRESSURIZATION AND HATCH OPENING MP3 audio file cropped from the Apollo 15 mission so you can listen to Scott and Irwin depressurizing the LM before their SEVA. This clip includes the full opening and latching of the overhead +X hatch as well. The clip begins right at MET 106:41:51 with the words "going open", said just as Jim Irwin cracked the +Z forward Cabin Relief Dump Valve to start bleeding atmosphere from the LM. Listen as it takes just less than 10 SECONDS to depress the LM from 4.6psi to 3.5psi, where they then pause for 45 seconds for the suit integrity check before continuing to bleed out the internal atmosphere completely. This clip, which is 165 seconds long, ends just as Dave Scott latches the overhead +X hatch wide open inside the now fully depressurized LM.

Alternative gravity theory-how gravity works, what causes gravity The law of gravity is nonsense, no such law exists...if I think I float, and you think I float, then it happens...Everything science knows about gravity today is what we knew of electricity 200 years ago. If we truly understood it then we could control it, yes? The underlying main principle mechanism or cause of gravity, but not all factors. Why all Em wave exhibit gravitational effect. Why there is and is not a specific "gravity" particle, and how gravity might pass threw an entire planet like no other particle. The relationship between gravity and motion. The relationship between electrostatics and gravity and why gravity is much weaker. ....Most likely the manipulation of gravity will involve yet untried or unnoticed ways of manipulating EM & ES fields but probably just a lot of trial and error, thereby manipulating the aether which is like the glue of the universe, giving objects a resistance to change of position when moved(g-force), affecting that object would seem massless and weightless more or less, all that's required is reducing the weight of an object by some small amount, that would be proof. I was thinking along the lines of something like aether depressurization would affect gravity, using electromagnets to create some kind of aether vaccum, or maybe field manipulation like how drops of water can be suspended in mid air using sound waves, or strong electrostatic fields can create seemingly invisible "force fields", or a combination of these things. other ...

Attic Doctor Attic Hatch Demonstration Demonstrates how the Attic Doctor's attic hatch "tent" seals the access to attics, a major energy leak in many homes and buildings. This video was shot while the building was depressurized to -50 pascals using a blower door. With the attic hatch tent in place, there is no breeze, demonstrating how well the attic hatch tent seals the attic hatch. As the attic hatch tent is removed, the breeze caused by the depressurization is clearly visible. While a house will not be depressurized under normal conditions, leaks found around most attic hatches are active 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, wasting energy by leaking conditioned air into the attic and therefore to the outside. IGN Dead Space Review Final Score: 8.7=Great Full review: ps3 Presentation 9.0= A deep story and incredible atmosphere with tons of horror influences make Dead Space one of those titles that is a great starting point for a franchise. Graphics 9.0= Visually striking, everything from the holograms to the Necromorphs is incredible. Pixilation during depressurization and mild slowdown crimp its style. Sound 9.5= Voice acting is delivered beautifully, but it's the sound design that will have you jumping out of your seat and sending shivers down your spine. Gameplay 8.5= A strong mix of action and exploration is only hampered by repetitive, though appropriate, backtracking and odd navigation issues. Lasting appeal 8.5= You'll have to play through the game multiple times to improve your gear and understand the full story. However, not being able to change your difficulty after you beat the game is a bad decision. Plus DLC Alternate costumes already unlock able
CIA B727 Air Drop/Jump Test 1970-71 This snippet is from the CIA/Air America film "Flying Men, Flying Machines" produced circa '70/'71. The air drop tests were likely done at the CIA/Air America facilities at the Takhli Royal Thai Air Force Base in Thailand. The palletized air drops used a modified 727 interior. The ventral stairs are apparently removed and replaced with a ramp the two jumpers slide down. The jumpers use static lines. It is unclear what flight configuration is used, so the exit speed is undetermined. The film makes a point of saying the plane can be pressurized, and unpressurized for the drop. This means the aft door would work normally, and be openable in flight after depressurization. Full video (87 minutes) in a variety of formats, available for free download at www.vietnam.ttu.edu According to available research, the system, while tested, was never used in an actual mission. Unless you count Flight 305. Takhli location is from Leeker, p16 of www.utdallas.edu , who references Thomas C. Sailer, interview made with Willliam M. Leary at San Francisco on 8 September 1985; professor Leary's notes, preserved at UTD/Leary/ I B14F6
