They have vowed to continue their rallies to oust the government for what they say is the mishandling of a border dispute with Cambodia. About 2000 members of the People's Alliance for Democracy walked from the Government House to the Royal Plaza in Bangkok Friday. It happened as the MPs held a parliamentary vote for a charter amendment on electoral law. The protesters have been camping out there since January 25th. Although the Thai government imposed the Internal Security Act on Tuesday, police took no action against the protesters, but blocked the road that led to the Parliament House to prevent any disruption by demonstrators. Also at the heart of the protest, a 900-year-old temple along the Thai-Cambodia border that both countries claim as their own. The protesters accuse Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva of being weak in dealing with Cambodia and have also accused his coalition members of massive corruption. [Sarunyoo Wongkrachang, People's Alliance for Democracy]: "The only thing we have is our heart filled with patriotism. We have only our hearts and we need to make it known on stage. That's our objective." The protesters demanded the government revoke a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2000 with Cambodia. They say Thailand is at a disadvantage from the agreement. • ALEMANHA- BERLIN-GERMANY The Berlin Wall (German: Berliner Mauer) was erected by the German Democratic Republic (GDR) (East Germany) completely encircling West Berlin, separating it from East Germany, including East Berlin. The longer inner German Border (the IGB) demarcated the border between East and West Germany. Both borders came to symbolize the Iron Curtain between Western Europe and the Eastern Bloc. Prior to the Wall's erection, 3.5 million East Germans had avoided Eastern Bloc emigration restrictions to escape into West Germany, many over the border between East and West Berlin. During its existence from 1961 to 1989, the Wall stopped almost all such emigration and separated East Germany from West Germany for more than a quarter of a century.[1] The Wall included guard towers lining large concrete walls circumscribing a wide area (later known as the "death strip") containing anti-vehicle trenches, "fakir beds" and other defenses. After its erection, around 5000 people attempted to escape circumventing the wall, with estimates of the resulting death toll varying between 100 and 200. During a revolutionary wave sweeping across the Eastern Bloc, the East German government announced on November 9, 1989, after several weeks of civil unrest, that all GDR citizens could visit West Germany and West Berlin. Crowds of East Germans climbed onto and crossed the wall, joined by West Germans on the other side in a celebratory atmosphere. Over the next few weeks, parts of the wall were chipped away by ...

  • Derana News 10 04 2009 End of War The Sri Lankan Armed forces have now undertaken the largest humanitarian operation in the world, as the LTTE have taken thousands of civilians in the government declared No Fire Zone (NFZ) hostage. The Army has almost swept away terrorists strongholds in the northern anterior of the 12 kilometre long NFZ demarcated for the civilians and now limited their mop up operations to the southern anterior. The Sri Lanka Army 58 Division soldiers are spearheading the rescue operations as they have established their positions closest to the NFZ border, West of Ampalavanpokkanai and South of Puthumathalan. According to defence sources, some of these rescue points are located just 150 metres short of the LTTE built earth bund on the NFZ border. Troops continuously keep the civilians informed of the safe routes to the cleared areas as they open up more escape routes by removing terrorists blockades, said the sources. Public address systems have been a positioned at several locations closest to the NFZ to convey these information to the civilians, the sources added. Meanwhile, troops of 58 Division rescued 386 hostages including 157 children, 98 females and 137 males during daytime yesterday (Apr 9). The rescued civilians so rescued have told the defence sources that the LTTE is committing horrendous crimes to prevent civilians leaving their hold. There is no ...

  • 12 East Horoscopes + 12 West Zodiac Signs Rock Nano latest work titled "Zodiac", is a combination of 12 Western Zodiac signs (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpius, Sagittarius, Capricornus, Aquarius, Pisces) and 12 Asian Zodiac horoscopes (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig). Gold and silver acrylic are applied on two panels of 100cm x 100cm x 5mm glasses weighing 30 kg. Four pieces of spacers between them are used to hold these two glasses together while leaving a gap of 70mm in between. I am inspired that there is closeness in the Zodiac that is often demarcated into East and West. The western Zodiac is denoted by month, and the Eastern Zodiac is denoted by year. The design will demonstrate the embeddeness of East and West whereby its completeness is complementary. The setup will be two panels of glass, with an intermingled set of 12 East West Zodiacs on either panel. When the two panels are placed parallel side to side, it will make a complete sense.
  • "Now I see that God shows no partiality": Israel Vs Palestine No partiality with God. It doesn't matter who you are or where you come from, equality and fair treatment should always reign! Same with Israel and Palestine: Not only is it no business of the Christian! It's also no political business of ours! It is basically two ethnic factions fighting: I believe they may have had even the same ancestor, Abraham. Now Christians believe it is our job to support Israel, and for some funny reason The US is sending them billions of dollars, when they say we should not establish a religion here; I agree. The Bible makes no claim that we should support Israel; what is does say is that people of God should be supported; that was the intent of the metaphor of Israel. We know, hopefully, that God pronounced condemnation on Israel, those who would not repent of their murders, etc. It is the same today; while God does not support a certain ethnic division, because he is fair, he does support his people, which include all Jews and Christians, or Muslims, who are willing to follow him: "I have sheep that are not of this fold; I must bring them *ALSO*." [emphasis added] The concept of Israel is far from being demarcated ethnically, but is demarcated inclusively to all who would call I-Am their God! Consequently, it's not about factions or being factious. It's about what is right: I just don't want to see people murdered, or attacked, regardless of their ethnicity or nationality. Do we support, purportedly, one race over another in The US? If not ...
  • durand line The Durand Line was demarcated by the British and signed into a treaty in 1893 with the Afghan ruler Amir Abdur Rehman Khan. The treaty was to stay in force for a 100-year period. According to Afrasiab Khattak, a political ***yst, the areas from the Khayber Agency Northwards to Chitral, however, remained un-demarcated. This disputed land was legally to be returned to Afghanistan in 1993 after the 100 year old Durand Treaty expired, similar to how Hong Kong was returned to China. Kabul has refused to renew the Durand Line treaty since 1993 when it expired, Throughout the last nine years, Pakistan has tried to get Afghan Warlords and Taliban to sign a renewal contract of the Treaty, and thankfully they didn't not fall for the treachery of Pakistan. One of the reasons Pakistan faced problems with the Kabul rulers right from its inception was Kabul's claim over the North West frontier Province. (NWFP) Kabul never accepted that line or the fact that the NWFP is part of Pakistan. This was one of the main policy planks used by President Daoud Khan's government when it tried to foment trouble by Pashtoons nationalists in the NWFP on the issue of greater Pashtoonistan. Until this day, the disputed land which rightfully and legally belongs to Afghanistan, is still recognized as the North-West Frontier Province, NWFP. Every other province in Pakistan is named by the ethnic group that resides there, such as Punjab, Sindh, and Balouchistan. But the ethnic Afghans that are forced ...

  • Knjaz Danilo Petrovic - Pozoristna predstava [3 dio od 8] Prince Danilo I of Montenegro, was the prince-bishop (Vladika) and later Prince (Knjaz) of Montenegro from 1851 to 1860. During his reign, Montenegro became a secular state, a lay principality instead of a bishopric-principality. He became involved in a war with the Ottoman Empire in 1852, the Porte claiming jurisdiction in Montenegro, and the boundaries between the two countries were not defined until 1858. Danilo, with the help of his elder brother, Duke Mirko, defeated the Ottomans at Ostrog in 1853 and at Grahovac in 1858. On January 12, 1855 at Njegoš he married Princess Darinka Kvekić, who was born in a wealthy family in Trieste on December 31, 1837 and died on February 14, 1892), daughter of Prince Marko Kvekić and wife Countess Elisabeth Mirkovich. They had one daughter, Olga (Cetinje, March 19, 1859 - Venice, September 21, 1896), who never married and died young. When Petar II Petrović-Njegoš died, the Senate, under the influence of Đorđije Petrović (the wealthiest Montenegrin at the time), proclaimed Petar II's elder brother Pero Tomov Petrović as Prince (not Vladika). Nevertheless, in a brief struggle for power, Pero, who commanded the support of the Senate, lost to the much younger Danilo who had much more support among people. Prior to the determination of Petar II's successor, after making peace between Crmnica and Katunjani tribes, and being recognized by Brda and all Montenegrin tribes except for the Bjelopavlići, Danilo traveled to Vienna, Austrian Empire ...

The longer inner German border demarcated the border between East and West Germany. Both borders came to symbolize the Iron Curtain between Western Europe and the Eastern Bloc. The wall separated East Germany from West Germany for more than a quarter of a century, from the day construction began on 13 August 1961 until the Wall was brought down on 9 November 1989. During this period, at least 98 people were confirmed killed trying to cross the Wall into West Berlin, according to official figures. However, a prominent victims' group claims that more than 200 people were killed trying to flee from East to West Berlin.[2] The East German government issued shooting orders to border guards dealing with defectors, though such orders are not the same as shoot to kill orders which GDR ...
  • Mark Anderson on Brazilian Literature Brazil is paradise; everyone knows that. European explorers of the region praised its exuberant greenery and natural abundance, and some even imagined themselves to be honing in on the Garden of Eden. During the 20th century, nationalist discourses of mesticagem and brasileridade proclaimed Brazil a perfectly blended racial and cultural utopia. Effective in creating a homogeneous national identity spanning cultural and geographical diversity, the official discourse of Brazil as a natural, racial and cultural paradise also implied the marginalization of anyone (or anywhere) that did not conform to its designs. The rebellious nature and cultural wilds of places like the interior Sertoes of Northeastern Brazil, Mato Grosso and the Amazon Basin embodied a challenge to national definition. Largely unmapped, demarcated only cursorily, they were in Brazil, but they were not Brazil. This presentation traces the formation of an early 20th century Brazilian literature of ecological otherness that frequently represents environmental and cultural difference not only as abjection, but also as a threat to the modern nation.

Maudud Ahmed asked the government to immediately go to the UN and make it aware of Bangladeshs present situation. He also asked the government not to take their concern as a political move to criticize it. Hannan Shah blamed government for not taking any step to determine the maritime boundary. • Knjaz Danilo Petrovic - Pozoristna predstava [6 dio od 8] Prince Danilo I of Montenegro, was the prince-bishop (Vladika) and later Prince (Knjaz) of Montenegro from 1851 to 1860.

Earlier this year, a Chinese helicopter violated Indian airspace in Ladakh. Recently, the word 'China' was painted on rocks near the Ladakh border. The Government says these intrusions take place because the India-China border is not clearly demarcated in this area ! But China does not accept what India believes is the existing border. The Ministry of External Affairs has also said that these incursions are not an issue and violations of airspace are simply navigational blunders by helicopters because the borders are not well-defined. CPI (M) leader Nilotpal Basu; Defence ***yst and Rear Admiral (Retd) Raja Menon; and former diplomat G Parthasarathy discuss and debate on the burning issue.

  • Contours Contours is an experimental film that attempts to halt narrative continuity. An ode to Borges, the film centers on a young woman and her alcoholic partner and attempts to view "all possible outcomes" to this setup. While obviously that would lead of a film of infinite length, I settled on three. 1) The woman allows herself to be idolized by him 2) She leaves him 3) She kills him Each "outcome" is demarcated with a different film aesthetic.
  • AstroSwami Pro - iPhone App - GET PERSONAL! It is an app about YOU! Zodiac app for the more seriously-inclined and not a frivolous kind. Per Jackie Judge: My boyfriends first impression of AstroSwami Pro was, TRIPPY. I cant think of a better word to describe this app. Horoscopes and Zodiacs, Astrology studies and websites vary far and wide, ranging in quality from pure silliness to the exceptionally serious. Youll often find the silly, frivolous horoscopes on the back pages of Cosmopolitan and in the lower, easily-overlooked corner of a newspaper demarcated in its short blurb of a box. AstroSwami Pro by definitely takes a more serious and believable course in its zodiac principles, as it follows Indian Vedic Astrology along with Western Astrology. The app provides life predictions at a personalized level based on your birth date, birth time, birth place, and birth country, and includes a personality breakdown based on Numerological ***ysis. It also prescribes remedies like Red Book remedy, Gems Remedy, and Saturn Transit Remedy, all of which when viewed critically, provide ways for you to better yourself or avoid certain predicted obstacles. The Numerology section is exceptionally thorough, and even includes a list of ideal professions and personality faults that eerily resemble truth. A general day-to-day horoscope is given for all the different zodiac signs, along with a love section that doesnt resemble the frivolity of less serious sites you may find online. Ill admit I was surprised maybe a bit spooked at the ...

  • Travel through Time by Riding the Sound. The Eye ball and the Earth ball: Model for Inverted Planetarium: Illustrates and addresses more logical evidences that the human eye ball is similar to the planet earth ball through the 3D-coordinate system and by answering the question of what is meant by up and down in term of directions in this universe. ...................................................................................... Travel through Time by Riding the Sound: - This study tries to explain how contrary to the ordinary look that a travel through time needs a sound wave rather than a light beam by comparing the evolutionary process that happen in galaxies from the early to the late Universe by an insight and careful look to the internal Ear system in the human body. Time travel is probably an act of consciousness, perhaps amplified by some machine. And since perception of sound is also a conscious activity, I cannot say that the sound sensory system is not related to the conscious activity related to time travel. Although the particular mechanisms for connecting the two - time travel and sound perception is not clear yet to me, my figured article I think succeed in addressing how the coiled Cochlea {"spiral galaxy"} open into the spherical space of the SACCULE {"lenticular galaxy"} (which is demarcated by the spherical recess of the SACCULE) this space then open in the elliptical space of the UTRICLE {"Elliptical galaxy"} (demarcated by the elliptical recess of the UTRICLE ), this Utricle space then ...

  • Brazil pioneers reforestation plan - 7 Dec 09 Brazil's Amazonas state has been pioneering a pilot project in which Brazilian families are taught to survive and prosper from the forest, without destroying it. More than 300 families live on the Juma sustainable development reserve, land that was demarcated by the state government as a no-go area for loggers and ranchers. The families receive a small stipend from the government in exchange for their commitment not to cut the forest. It is all part of a conscious effort to break the cycle of deforestation via economic opportunity. But will the international community commit to help the Brazilian government pay for it? Al Jazeera's Gabriel Elizondo reports from the Juma reserve in the Brazilian Amazon.

  • Germany Pt 8: The Berlin Wall (Eastside Gallery) The Berlin Wall (German: Berliner Mauer) was a physical barrier erected by the German Democratic Republic (GDR) (East Germany) completely encircling West Berlin, separating it from East Germany, including East Berlin. The longer inner German border demarcated the border between East and West Germany. Both borders came to symbolize the Iron Curtain between Western Europe and the Eastern BlocThe East-Side-Gallery is the longest monument for peace and reconciliation in Berlin. In 1990, after the division of Berlin had come to an end, countless artists from all over the world painted the dreary 1.3 kilometer long wall that runs along the Mühlenstrasse. The colorful collection of political and poetic murals is a unique attraction. Unfortunately automobile exhaust fumes and willful vandalism have taken their toll on the East-Side-Gallery and as a result many of the pictures have had to undergo restoration. The spontaneous work of art between Oberbaum Bridge and Ostbahnhof has meanwhile been placed under historical preservation. Still today it gives testimony to the hopes and effusive joy that was felt in Berlin after the Wall fell. It is an irony that the only preserved paintings on the Berlin Wall are located on former GDR territory: When the city was still divided, only the west side of the concrete wall could be painted.
  • Becker's Nevus Dr. James L. Campbell Jr., MD discusses Becker's Nevus. See more at PLEASE RATE AND COMMENT!!! Becker's nevus is not a nevocellular nevus because it lacks nevus cells. The lesion is a developmental anomaly consisting of either a brown macule, a patch of hair, or both. Nonhairy lesions may later develop hair. The lesions appear in adolescent men on the shoulder, submammary area, and upper and lower back. Becker's nevus varies in size and may enlarge to cover the entire upper arm or shoulder. The border is irregular and sharply demarcated. Malignancy has never been reported. Becker nevus syndrome is the presence of an epithelial nevus showing hyperpigmentation, increased hairiness and hamartomatous augmentation of smooth muscle fibers, and other developmental defects such as ipsilateral hypoplasia of breast and skeletal anomalies including scoliosis, spina bifida occulta, or ipsilateral hypoplasia of a limb. The Becker nevus syndrome usually occurs sporadically. Becker's nevus is usually too large to remove by excision. The hair may be shaved. Laser removal of hair and pigmentation is reported.
