  • Let's Play Kirby's Dream Course - Course 1 Hello everybody, SlimKirby here, and welcome to my new Let's Play, Kirby's Dream Course This game is kind of a golf/mini-golf type adventure game where you take Kirby across different courses and levels to get him to the end. The goal for each level/hole is to get Kirby in the hole (after destroying all of the enemies) in the fewest amount of strokes that you can. Although getting the best score isn't required to beat the game, it will yield some neat surprises if you can achieve gold-medal success in every course. As stated above, this is a gold-medal run, so I will be getting all of the gold medals in EVERY course and showing off all of the different unlockables. This is a very difficult thing to do though and because the game requires a lot of precise timing, this will definitely take me more than just one attempt (usually). Basically, here is how each video will be set-up. I will show my first recorded attempt (no matter what) and if I get the gold medal, I will move on in the next video. If I don't get the gold, I will keep playing and recording until I do. In the attempt that I do, instead of showing the whole thing, I will just show a few specific holes (usually holes that I screwed up on previously and ended up getting better scores on later, or holes I ended up using a different method/strategy on) along with me getting the gold medal. Each video will be one course. Finally, as for other stuff I will cover in this game, I have something planned for the 2-Player ...

  • Course Threads: We Are All Creative The Course Thread Program allows UC Berkeley undergraduates to explore intellectual themes that connect courses across departments and disciplines. Without creating new majors or minors, the program instead highlights connections between existing courses. Course Threads help students see the value in educational breadth while also pursuing a more in-depth and well-rounded knowledge on one particular topic. Course Thread topics include: Human Rights, Cultural Forms in Transit, The Historical & Modern City, Visible Language, Humanities & Environment, Human-Centered Design, Old Things, and Science & Society. Students following a thread enroll in at least 3 courses from the thread over the course of their study at Berkeley, and participate in at least one year-end symposium. The Course Threads Program is made possible by the generous support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. For more information on the Course Threads Program, visit coursethreads.berkeley.edu

  • 1. Introductions The American Novel Since 1945 (ENGL 291) In this first lecture Professor Hungerford introduces the course's academic requirements and some of its central concerns. She uses a magazine advertisement for James Joyce's Ulysses and an essay by Vladimir Nabokov (author of ***ta, a novel on the syllabus) to establish opposing points of view about what is required to be a competent reader of literature. The contrast between popular emotional appeal and detached artistic judgment frames literary debates from the Modernist, and through the post-45 period. In the second half of lecture, Hungerford shows how the controversies surrounding the publication of Richard Wright's Black Boy highlight the questions of truth, memory, and autobiography that will continue to resurface throughout the course. Complete course materials are available at the Open Yale Courses website: open.yale.edu This course was recorded in Spring 2008.

  • The Aperture Science Test Course - Part 1 Finally. This Garry's Mod machinima took a while to make, but it was well worth it in the end. This is about two citizens who find themselves in the Aperture Science testing facility, and in order to escape, they have to go through a series of courses, that are death-defying. A guide by the name of Steve walks them through (sort of like GLADOS, if you've ever played Portal before, if you haven't yet, I highly reccomend you do). A clever mix of action and comedy, I'm sure most will be pleased with this project. Part 2 will be available shortly, and when it does, watch it to find out the conclusion of this short film. Enjoy.
