Coming out of the ground, they battled over what must have seemed like giant sand dunes (but were really just foot imprints in the sand) to get to the ocean. They got pretty close to us later in the video. Very cute! Nice that Aruba has people taking care of/ cordoning off the areas.
  • Taliban Terrorists attacks Pakistan Army headquarters Rawalpindi(10 Oct 2009) (10 Oct 2009): Pakistani soldiers killed four gunmen who attacked the tightly guarded army headquarters in the city of Rawalpindi on Saturday (October 10), military officials said. A team of gunmen brandishing assault rifles and grenades tried to break into Pakistan's army headquarters, sparking a raging gunbattle with troops outside the capital of Islamabad. Pakistans Tehrik-e-Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack. The exact number of terrorists who were involved in the offensive, their locations and movements was unclear as media persons were prevented from approaching the area around army HQ due to security reasons. However police and troops were seen cordoning off the area while helicopter gunships flew overhead trying to aerially assess the scenario. A Pakistani army spokesperson initially said there were only four terrorists involved who were killed by this afternoon; however latest reports of intermittent firing suggest that some terrorists could still be at large and engaging the security forces, even succeeding in taking some hostages. Geo television quoted the DG, ISPR (Inter Services Public Relations) Major-General Athar Abbas as saying all four terrorists had been killed in the gunbattle and that the situation was under control. 'I can't give you the exact casualties inflicted on our guards, but four of them at the first check post were martyred, the spokesperson added. • GARY ALEXANDER BOURNE, PRESTATYN. Beach pictures and lack of disabled access Maybe a few old letters to the editor could comment:- A POLO MINT A STEP TO FAR It was with some alarm this resident viewed the latest stage of Prestatyn's Central Beach redevelopment. While you the reader are fully aware of the fiasco of the Beginning and End (Polo Mint to you and me) and the health and safety cordoning off after just a month. With Prestatyn being sued over the injury. More serious issues of what this onlooker could only describe as 'incompetence of planning.' With a population of 28% of pensionable age, plus disabled in wheelchairs and mothers with pushchairs etc. There is the obvious lack of foresight and planning to have access and a defined rout to move about this £397000 concrete and polished steel monstrosity. I was privileged to have spoken to Roy and Ruth Eardley of Prestatyn. Who enjoy getting out and about, down by the beach in their motorised scooters. Expressed their disappointment and disbelief in how difficult or impossible it is to use the site. With disabled ramps leading to dead ends and steps. Others 'hidden' away so if you miss them, you end up facing more steps. And the areas that are on the 'flat' are impossible to move around as the planners and approvers have simply forgotten a wheelchair is wider that a walker. Of cause Sherry (the ***) thinks they are all barking mad. Dear Editor, could I comment on Easier access to the beach is top priority by David Fallows in The Journal March 18th 2009 please? (Elmar Klemm, Zillo Magazine, Jul/Aug 2009) Ambient Electro Pop from Berlin in the tradition of Kraftwerk, Schiller & Jean-Michel Jarré Multi-faceted Electro mixture of Pop, Ambient, Techno, Club, Industrial and Wave... Sven Wolff (Brigadier) and Lance Murdock (Brigadeleiter) make no secret of their obsession with heavy machinery. Already at an early age, these two childhood friends preferred the fascinating bustle of large scale construction sites over playgrounds, observing the plethora of busy construction workers and their, in theses boys eyes at least, dramatic interactions. Endlessly fascinated with what appears to others as the monotonous daily routines of a construction site, they early on became enraptured with loud and gigantic machines, the glare of orange safety vests, yellow hard hats, and striped cordoning tape. However, the focus of their fervent adoration became the gravity-defying conductors in their seemingly never-ending tower cranes. Though it was clear to them that they did not want to turn their veneration into a career (sic!), their calling was nevertheless quickly apparent at least supply the construction business with an up-todate sound. It is exactly this bizarre source of inspiration that seems to have fueled PATENBRIGADE: WOLFF and the duos zest for musical achievements since 1998. The musical output of the self-styled tower crane conductors ...

  • Toronto G20 "Bike Bloc" action A protest by cyclists in Toronto against the treatment of the G20 security. The police were very aggressive in attitude and numbers at the beginning of the ride. They seemed to ease off (at least on the attitude) after we finally were allowed to ride for a while. We took the kids! Why not? We cycle everywhere, and bicycles are super nice people. The only thing scary there was the cops. But most of them were nice. One did warn us to stay at the back in case of tear gas fired at the front. Another cop in an unmarked car come up beside us and informed us that while we are welcome to ride that we should know there will be tear gas and rubber bullets at the end so it might not be so good for the kids. I repeated back what he said and asked for confirmation. He confirmed. I asked why. He did not respond, but drove away. I yelled after him "why will there by tear gas and rubber bullets?" No answer of course. It was ridiculous. I assumed he was just trying to scare us. Riding down Yonge Street one of the cops cordoning off one of the side streets said sarcastically, "Good role model" as i rolled by. Meanwhile, many onlookers and riders said "awwwww" as they saw the kids there. And one told us we inspired her to come along into the ride. Everything was fine. Just a bit slow. The cycles are chanting "let us ride" in this video, and "Who's streets? Our streets!"; also the chant of "peaceful protest" was common. I also have photos of the event, if you can't get enough of images of ...
  • Toronto Travel Discoveries: At the edge of the Scarborough Bluffs This video clip was taken during my bike ride to the Scarborough Bluffs. I actually decided to ride eastwards because from 2 pm yesterday there was a huge 5-alarm fire raging very close to our place. A car wrecking company with dozens of car-casses went up in flames and a huge cloud of black smoke started covering the city and drifted northwestwards. According to the news it was a tire fire which released a plume of toxic fumes. Apparently, even this morning the fire was still smouldering and firefighters were still there. I wonder what the long-term health effects / contamination will be from this event... So because of this fire I rode eastwards into the clean air, although I stopped at Danforth & Vic Park to see what was going on. All I could see was police vehicles cordoning off the area and no one could get close to the site of the fire. I continued east on the Danforth to Midland and discovered several new forest trails near Fishleigh Drive. Then I cycled through a steep valley trail down to the lake from where I had a great view of the Scarborough Bluffs and Bluffers Park. • Massacre in Christian church in Iraq کشتار در کلیسای مسیحی در عراق Islamists of Al Qaeda in Iraq claims massacre at Christian church in Baghdad Ahmadinejad and her new girlfriend Salimi Lost his Medal The Islamic State of Iraq, al Qaeda's front organization, claimed credit for last night's massacre at a Baghdad church that killed 52 Iraqis. Al Qaeda stated that the attack at the church was launched to avenge the treatment of Muslim women in Egypt. Al Qaeda fighters armed with suicide vests, assault rifles, and hand grenades, and wearing uniforms of a local security company, attacked the nearby stock exchange, wounding two security guards. The attack on the exchange appeared to be a feint designed to lure security forces to the area while a squad estimated at between five to eight terrorists stormed the Our Lady of Deliverance church and took 120 Christians hostage, according to the Associated Press. Two hours later, after cordoning off the church, Iraqi security forces stormed the church, sparking a gunbattle that resulted in 52 Iraqis killed and 67 wounded. Two priests,10 Iraqi policemen, and the entire suicide squad were killed during the battle, according to reports. At least 30 of the people were killed when one of the al Qaeda terrorists either detonated his vest or lobbed hand grenades at the Christian hostages being held in the basement. "It is all surprising that how he reached here and for how long he was here", he said. Police officer Anwar Shah said Pakistan's army was still busy in conducting search operation in the area. Osama is the main leader to have been killed by the US forces in Pakistan but there have been other breakthroughs. Umar Patek, the man believed to have masterminded the Bali bombing, was arrested in the town in January. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the Kuwaiti-born senior al-Qaeda leader, was arrested in garrison city of Rawalpindi and Mullah Baradar, an Afghan Taliban military commander, was arrested in Karachi. "Go away helicopter, before I take out my giant swatter," Athar pithily quipped in a "tweet" at the San Francisco based microblogging service. That message was followed in rapid succession by tweets telling of a window-rattling blast, a helicopter crash, a family dying, and then soldiers cordoning off part of the neighborhood and searching door-to-door. He eventually connected the ruckus to an announcement by US President Barack Obama that a US military team killed bin Laden in a surgical strike at a mansion in Abbottabad. "There goes the neighborhood," Athar tweeted. "Uh oh, now I'm the guy who live-blogged ...
  • Kennedy Nixon Full Debate Day 3 Part 2 (1960) October 13, 1960 - Watch the full debate: John F. Kennedy: Richard Nixon: The United States, led by President Harry S. Truman since April 1945, was determined to open up the world's markets to capitalist trade and to shape the postwar world according to the principles laid down by the Atlantic Charter: self-determination, equal economic access, and a rebuilt capitalist Europe that could again serve as a hub in world affairs. World War II resulted in enormous destruction of infrastructure and populations throughout Eurasia, with almost no country left unscathed. The only major industrial power in the world to emerge intact—and even greatly strengthened from an economic perspective—was the United States. The United States also led the effort to assert its vision of the world with new international agencies: the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, which were created to ensure an open, capitalist, international economy. The Soviet Union opted not to take part. The Soviets, too, saw their vital interests in the containment or roll-back of capitalism near their borders. Joseph Stalin was determined to set up pro-Moscow regimes in Poland, Romania, East Germany, and Bulgaria, which contradicted his statements at Yalta when he assured "free elections" would go ahead in Eastern Europe. Former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in 1946 condemned Stalin for cordoning off a new Russian empire with an "iron ...

  • Iraqi forces beat and abuse Ashraf residents using electric batons and handcuff residents Cordoning of a building in Camp Ashraf by Iraqi forces tightened Two weeks after remarks by Ali Khamenei, the clerical regimes Supreme Leader, emphasizing the expulsion of the Peoples Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) from Iraq and implementation of a bilateral agreement between the Iranian regime and the government of Iraq, and pursuant to the attack on a building in Camp Ashraf and its cordoning which started on Friday, an Iraqi officer at 09:00 this morning started threatening the PMOI members at the entry gate of Camp Ashraf, beating and abusing two of them by the names of Abdulali Haj Mohammadi and Nouredin Navid. • 2) Abolish ISA rally, Kuala Lumpur, 1 Aug 2009 - Masjid Jamek Scores had been arrested at about 1pm outside Masjid Jamek. The street was almost deserted and Muslim men had gone inside the mosque as it was time for afternoon prayer. Police appeared to be expecting a crowd to emerge from the mosque after prayers and set about to trap those inside by cordoning the entrance. It was getting tense, with a police officer shouting "Reporter belakang" or something like that and started threatening the rest of us to leave. A few minutes later, a group from Central Market walked past the area, signalling that we were to walk to Sogo. Note the Special Branch in plainclothes walking among the police. It was also easy to spot those who were trying to blend in by wearing black - they were not chased off unlike the rest of us and could sit like a bird of prey waiting...also, they had DESIGNER sun shades.

Between Rosetta McClain Gardens and the Toronto Hunt Club I checked out several quaint neighbourhoods located on top of the Bluffs and finally ended up at Toronto's Eastern Beaches and took in the sunset at Ashbridges Bay Park. I amactually a travel writer who loves to explore international destinations as well as my chosen home town of Toronto. On Youtube you will find hundreds of video clips ...
  • EXCLUSIVE!!!! Widespread Devastation in Japan after Deadly Earthquake 2011-03-14 Please Subscribe!! Each Day New Video's!! A panoramic view of one neighborhood along Japan's northeast coast - utter devastation as far as the eye can see. Complete neighborhoods in towns like Rikuzentakata have been flattened after the country's worst earthquake and tsunami hit last Friday. Personal items are mixed in with debris making their recovery nearly impossible. Crude flags mark the location of bodies found. In Kuji - more devastation. Residents distraught and worried are voicing their frustrations. [Emiko Ohta, Kuji Resident]: "There are old ladies coming and going around this dangerous area. The local government is not cordoning anything off, or telling us what to do next. So they are basically ignoring us. And they are basically telling us to clean up on our own. Nobody is coming here. They are just coming to take photos and that's all." Fatalities from the disaster are expected now to reach over 10000. The earthquake and subsequent tsunami are being called the country's worst crisis since World War Two. Produced by NTD-TV
  • Ant Colony entering their new home. Finally both queens entered the formicarium. The queen on the right is the primary queen. The queen on the left is the either enslaved or merged willingly queen. In the colony, the primary queen is observed to have unrestricted movement whereas the enslaved queen is guarded by a group of ants that sometimes grip her mandibles to guide her to move where they want her to be. The story is I had 4 separate colonies with individual queens in test tubes placed is close proximity of each other. One day when I check on my colonies, I found only 1 colony left. In 2 of the other colonies, I found queen ant corpses. As for the 3rd colony, I found its queen in the 1st colony's test tube. I could recognize it by its tattered wings that didnt drop off completely. As can be observed in this video, the enslaved queen is being coaxed to move deeper into the nest. As the exit is on the left, we can see a bunch of ants cordoning of the route to prevent the enslaved queen from moving out.
  • Police Action. It started with me noticing through a window that traffic was being diverted. Then my nosey ass needed to check things out. Police were cordoning off an area of both High Street Kensington and Hyde Park. I have no other news to report on the why until a reporter fills me in. This is just what I saw.

  • Name A Fed All US citizens are now recognized as terrorist suspects. (US Patriot Act) We may, in future, expect phone tappings, or now, arrests, rummaging through homes for, as in New Orleans, during Hurricane Catrina, firearms, cordoning neighborhoods, curfews, as already imposed in one neighborhood. But don't worry, it won't affect you. With the obvious collapse of the dollar, the oncoming recession, depression, officially, ... It leaves one to wonder ... Who is responsible for this? Well, if the system, President, Congress, etc., is run from above ... who is pulling the strings? ... Leaving off military or policing power, outside the government, it must be people who are really rich.

  • GTA EAST END STAND OFF WITH EMERGENCY TASK FORCE It was a scene you thankfully don't witness very often on the streets of Toronto - police standing in a tense crouch with rifles and guns drawn, aimed at a silent house. It happened Tuesday on Holborne Ave. near Coxwell and Danforth. Cops were called about a robbery and managed to corner two burglars, who barricaded themselves inside the house. After a tense stand-off which saw the ETF cordoning off the streets with weapons drawn and demanding the pair surrender, the elite force stormed the house. Two 21-year-olds are in custody but they didn't go directly to jail. Instead, cops took them both to a nearby hospital for treatment of some minor wounds. They're each facing a variety of charges.

  • Terrorists attack Pakistan Army HQ(10 Oct 2009) Pakistani soldiers killed four gunmen who attacked the tightly guarded army headquarters in the city of Rawalpindi on Saturday (October 10), military officials said. Pakistan media reported that soldiers guarding Pakistan's army headquarters opened fire thus ...

  • Bomb Victims Mourned in Pakistan CHEN: Also in Pakistan... the city of Wah is in mourning today. That's where 59 factory workers died in a recent separatist attack. Now their grief-stricken families are calling for an end to the violence. STORY: Security personnel are cordoning off the country's main defense factory in Wah. A day earlier two Taliban suicide bombers blew themselves up here. They struck when hundreds of workers were knocking off at the end of their shift. Today the city is shrouded in grief as distraught families prepare to bury their loved ones. Taliban forces in Pakistan say the blasts were retaliation for military operations against militants. Shaken residents are calling on the government to start talking to the militants. [Safdar Rasheed, Victim's Relative]: "There is a need to find a solution, and that would be to sit down, listen to one another and understand each other's point of view. If we kill them (militants), they are not going to let us go, they will come and kill us." Since July of last year, Pakistan has suffered a wave of violence. Residents say it is becoming obvious that military action was not working. [Arshad Mehmood, Local Tailor]: "Sit with them (militants), talk to them. Ask them what they want. Nothing can ever be resolved through fighting; issues can only be resolved though negotiations." Since former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf's departure earlier this week, there is squabbling among the ruling parties in Pakistan. It's raising concerns about the ...
