Panis Angelicus - César Franck César Franck's romantic musical framing is set to a hymn originally composed around the year 1264 as part of a new feast day established by Pope Urban IV. The " Panis Angelicus" words are from the hymn "Sacris Solemniis" The feast occurs on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday and is known as "Corpus Christi" In the Christian Bible Jesus states that "unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you do not have life in you" and we read that this concept was so difficult to grasp that many disciples simply left..... "this is a hard saying; who can accept it" .... Jesus does not attempt to explain away or gain the return of these disciples by backing off from His exortation St Ignatius wrote on this subject in the year 106, and later St Ambrose in about the year 400. Finally at the 4th Lateran Council the dogma of "transubstantiation" was declared in the Latin church. The dogma essentially declares that the bread and wine become the body and blood of Jesus. The Orthodox Church also believes this to be true and refers to the Eucharist as a "Mystery" . There is a wide variance in the Protestant denominations, however Lutherans refer to " Consubstantiation" meaning that the body and blood are both present in the consecrated Eucharist. The Anglican Church typically refers to a " Real Presence" which includes a number of viewpoints ranging from Transubstantiation to Commemoration when speaking of the eucharist. The terminology and mystery behind the Eucharist are ...

Reformation Overview Luther 3c Martin Luther was the spark that finally set off the Reformation. His 95 thesis set off a movement that would in time roll over the world. This deeply flawed but devout man was used by God despite his many imperfections and mistakes. Because he was an Augustinian I do not agree with all of his theology but I deeply admire his bravery his tenacity and his recognition of the Scriptures as the final authority for the Christian. For those who wish to purchase the DVD Martin Luther I can recommend this website. (I just want to make it clear that I have absolutely no connection to this online business and am only including it as a compliment to other Christians. I have previously bought quite a number of items from it.) I can also highly recommend the newer film version simply called 'Luther' with Joseph Feinnes in the title role.

By being baptised as adults they were denying the efficacy of their childhood baptism and in so doing incurred the wrath of not only the Roman Catholic Church but those Protestants who had not yet seen the full light of the Scriptures. They had not seen that baptism actually plays no part in salvation but is instead by Faith Alone without any good or indeed ritual works. To the shame of the early Reformers it was the Protestants who often did the persecuting I believe that believers Baptism is the true biblical form of baptism. I was baptised by full immersion when I was 28. I am not alone in finding it ironic that many Baptists are Calvinists as they would have been put to death under the reign of Calvin.

Deathless Bird 死不鳥 The idea of "Deathless Bird" was derived from the "The Phoenix" (Tezuka Osamu). The Phoenix is about how human beings strive for eternal life. In the story, the most attractive point is the contradictory belief human beings have. That is when human got eternal life, they then think of ways to end their life. It is the main message in my work. I think that if I can reversely present the life and death ideology of human beings, this may impose a new experience to the audience. The main character of the story is the "Bird", since if there is god; I think the "Bird" can reach them easily as they have wings. I believed that they can fly to somewhere that human can't reach by technology. "Ah Ji" (Chicken) is my nickname since I was in primary school. Insensibly, I am interested in anything related to "chicken" and "bird". I asserted that the outbreak of bird flu is a warning from god to human. In the case of chicken: Human feed, kill and eat chickens since they are alive. Now, chickens can kill human contrarily. And human even kill more chickens for self-protection. Hence, the hierarchical difference between human and beast are blurred. The sound in the video is mixed with human voice, city noise and the birdcall; it symbolizes the consubstantiation of human and nature. And in the last part of the stop-motion animation, it emphasizes this theme again. To the human being, what's the "Great Devil"? The Bird or human beings? There are diverse conclusions. Nevertheless, the most ...

Reformation Overview Zwingli and Calvin 4a Ulrich Zwingli and John Calvin were both pivotal in their contribution to the Reformation in Europe. It seems that I am a lot closer to Zwingli than Calvin especially in the area of understanding the Communion. I do not agree with the Calvinistic view of Predestination as it originated not with Paul but with Augustine who in turn borrowed it from pagan concepts of 'Fate'. Romans chapter 9 is a mis-use of the Scriptures by Calvinists as it refers to Israel alone and not the Church as chapters 10 and 11 clearly show. This peculiar doctrine held by Calvinists was not held by any Christian in the first three centuries as testified by the Ante-Nicene Fathers. In fact they argued against it as being a part of Gnosticism. Also Calvin's role in the execution of Servetus were prompted by feelings of hatred and wounded pride. We are called to separate from heretics not kill them. (Titus 3:10 KJV) I find the excuses for this crime given in this programme very weak indeed. What I will not do is stand in judgment of Calvin as to whether he was saved or not. However I do have very strong doubts as to that because the Scripture clearly says that no murderer has eternal life in him and Calvin was clearly responsible for this mans death. (1 John 3:15)
Reformation Overview Tyndale 6b Tyndale is the last of this series. William Tyndale was the first English Bible translator who went back to the original languages to make an English Bible for all the people. Wycliffes Bible although a great start was flawed in that not only was it was translated from the Latin it followed the Latin grammar making it difficult to read. Tyndales version on the other hand flowed on the page making it memorable. It is said that the Authorised Version is over 90% Tyndale. What is more Tyndale had the advantage of the new technology of printing making copies relatively cheap and far more easily available. Like Jesus Christ he was betrayed by a friend and put to death. His final words were a prayer for King Henry VIII "Open the King of Englands eyes". 1 Corinthians 13:3-6 Tyndale (3) And though I bestowed all my gooddes to fede ye poore and though I gave my body even that I burned and yet had no love it profeteth me nothinge. (4) Love suffreth longe and is corteous. Love envieth not. Love doth not frowardly swelleth not dealeth (5) not dishonestly seketh not her awne is not provoked to anger thynketh not evyll (6) reioyseth not in iniquite: but reioyseth in ye trueth

A Lamp in the Dark -- part 11 of 17 A bold expose' of Roman Catholicism as the Bloodthirsty Religious Harlot of Revelation 17!! A Lamp In The Dark DVD is an exciting documentary showing the intriguing history of the Bible, the most bloodstained book in history! You enter into a world of saints and martyrs batting against spies, assassins and wolves in sheep's clothing. This DVD unfolds the fascinating 'untold' history of the Bible. It reveals critical information often overlooked in modern histories. During the Middle Ages, Catholic Popes and the Inquisition forbade Biblical translation, threatening imprisonment and death to those who disobeyed this edict. Learn about the sacrifice of men like John Wycliffe, Martin Luther, William Tyndale, Myles Coverdale and others, who hazarded their lives to communicate the Bible in languages, which the common people could understand. Can This Be The Key to Understanding? With the fall of Constantinople, ancient Greek m***cripts came into Europe, and with them, the clear streams of understanding that produced the Protestant Reformation. But what few people have ever heard, is that Rome launched a Counter Reformation, fully intending that they would destroy all the works of the Reformers. This is the key to the 'untold history' of the Bible. It is possible, even probable, that this ancient war on the Word of God continues to this day! Filled with rich visual graphics and dramatic re-enactments of key historic events. To buy this DVD in the USA: To buy ...

The Milky Way Trailer 1969 Bunuel The Milky Way (French: La Voie lactée) is a 1969 film directed by Luis Buñuel. It stars Laurent Terzieff, Paul Frankeur, Delphine Seyrig, Georges Marchal and Michel Piccoli. Buñuel later called The Milky Way the first in a trilogy (along with The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie and The Phantom of Liberty) about "the search for truth." The title of the film comes from the fact that original name for the Milky Way was the Way of St. James which directed pilgrims from northern Europe to Spain. in the film, two men travel the ancient pilgrimage road to Santiago de Compostela and meet embodiments of various Catholic heresies along the way. These religious events are based on actual historical documents. For instance, the archbishop whose corpse is exhumed and publicly burned is based on Archbishop Carranza of Toledo.[2] The film ends with the following text Everything in this film concerning the Catholic religion and the heresies it has provoked, especially from the dogmatic point of view, is rigorously exact. The texts and citations are taken either direct from Scripture, or modern and ancient works on theology and ecclesiastical history. Two men, Peter and John, are making a modern pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela along the traditional Way of St. James. As they walk along a roadside in France, they encounter a man in a black cape who tells them to sleep with a prostitute and have children with her. Then the pilgrims reach an inn, wherein an officer and a priest are ...
Augustine vs. Albrecht on the Bodily Presence - Round 2 This is video response to William Albrecht's two videos ( and ) responding to previous videos of mine, responding to a still previous video of his. I continue to point out Mr. Albrecht's errors. I have 11 points: 1) The issue is bodily presence vs. spiritual presence (not real presence vs. bare symbolism). 2) The issue of the "authority of the Catholic Chruch" is a misleading red herring, because Augustine meant the universal church, not the Roman Catholic Church. 3) When Augustine speaks of "divine presence" that does not mean or imply (quite the contrary) a bodily presence, because a body is not part of the divine nature but the human nature of Christ. 4) Mr. Albrecht (not myself) is the one who seems to need to try to turn Augustine into a Roman Catholic. I just take Augustine as I find him. 5) Mr. Albrecht refuses to let the Westminster Confession speak for itself, even when it clearly and explicitly states that the position is a real, yet spiritual, presence. 6) Mr. Albrecht confuses the real Francis Turretin's rejection of consubstantiation with a rejection of the spiritual presence (although Turretin actually affirms this, even in the snippets he quotes, if you listen carefully). 7) Mr. Albrecht errs in suggesting that the Latin word for Spiritual ever means or implies, in Augustine, "corporeal presence" - quite the opposite. 8) Mr. Albrecht still does not seem to "get" that statements like "after the consecreation the bread is [or ...
