  • Village of Victory Board Meeting July 6, 2010 (2:33) Mayor Jim Sullivan brings up, unasked, my appeal to the Village's denial of a FOIL request to see a complaint of building code violation made against me by an anonymous complainant. (5:58) Mayor Sullivan says he intends to ignore FOIL law and CoG recommendations that the name of the complainant be made public and force the public to bring an Article 78 lawsuit against the Village rather than make that information public (even with the exception allowed to protect the safety of the person complaining in case of a threat -- which he admits is not the case here.) Background: In June the Village Code Enforcement Officer issued a Notice of Violation without attempting to inspect my property. When he later did an inspection at my request, he admitted that there was no violation present. He provided me with a letter to that effect. I FOILed the village to obtain a copy of the fraudulent complaint and find out who made it. The Village Clerk/Records Access Officer denied the request on the grounds that it was an "unwarranted breach of privacy." I appealed to the Mayor, who denied my appeal on the grounds that the Village had promised the person anonymity. (There was a box on the complaint form they could check to say they did not want their name revealed.) However, according to the NYS Committee on Open Government website, the government does not have the right to grant confidentiality. According to an opinion by Robert J. Freeman, director of the CoG, "[T]here is nothing ...

  • Historic Judgement- Maulana Hamid Jafari Not Satisfied Historic Judgement- Maulana Hamid Jafari Not Satisfied with the replies given by Zaki Baqri With due respect to all the scholars who were present, judgement was not based on the principles of judgement given by Islam and teachings of Ahlulbait (as). Let me remind about some of the principles as follows; 1) None of the parties should be favoured. There should be public hearing at a place where one party is not fvoured. (But M.Baqri was favoured and was sitting with the judges panel). 2) None of the parties should be pressurised by the judiciary before, during and after the judgement. (Judges pressurised and attacked on those who had grievances, before the judgement (on third floor where many of the judges attacked and favoured M.Baqri before hearing), during the hearing (Video of M.Ali Mehdi proves it) and after the judgement too (some of the judges formed a lobby by getting together in favour of M.Baqri and were involved in propaganda against those who have grievances. They are doing this to protect Baqri from next trial). 3) No condition or pressure should be put on the complainant, so that he can freely prove his case. (This was not done as most of the zaib palace trustees were putting pressure and Imtiyaz merchant attacked the complainant against the principles of judiciary system. Moreover the condition was put that only one person will speak and deal with the case, whereas in judiciary system of Islam every witness should be called and allowed to discuss freely. Br ...
