There are too many choices, and you're not sure what they'll really taste like. Now imagine ice cream costs tens of thousands of dollars, and some flavors won't let you eat them. That's choosing a college. To complete this How-To you will need: A book or website with a list of colleges A guidance counselor or college advisor Step 1: Visit guidance counselor Have a talk with your guidance counselor. She's seen it all—and will be able to offer suggestions based on your grades and interests. Step 2: Ignore parents If you have overbearing parents, ignore them. It's time to start making choices for yourself. If they refuse to give you some leeway, threaten to get your face tattooed. Step 3: Consider your ideal home Think about where you'd like to live. • I Go to College for the Financial Aid (Original Song) http I go to college for the financial aid. Direct deposit is how I like to be paid. I got some Student financial aid refers to funding intended to help students pay educational expenses including tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, etc. for education at a college, university, or private school. General governmental funding for public education is not called financial aid, which refers to awards to specific individual students. Certain governments, eg Nordic countries, provide student benefit. A scholarship is sometimes used as a synonym for a financial aid award, although grants and student loans are also components of financial aid packages from students' intended colleges.

  • High School & College Paintball Clubs High School & College Paintball Clubs I know that in this video I stress a severe amount of caution, and for some people it may even lean towards the pessimistic side. I just want players to understand that it's not worth your education, or worth the legal trouble of possessing paintball guns on a campus where they are not allowed. And just because a high school or college has a paintball club, doesn't mean that you can carry your fully loaded paintball gun to class with you every day. Yes, hundreds of colleges across the US have paintball clubs and recieve university funding. But there is a right, and a wrong way to go about this. You only get one chance to make a first impression. If you are not an organized person who is good at presenting crazy ideas in a professional manner, DONT DO IT!! Get help or let someone else do it. When in doubt, don't push the subject, and just play paintball. You do not need the approval of your university or high school to have your own club. Students form car clubs, eating clubs, drinking clubs, video game clubs, frisbee clubs, there are thousands of "unofficial clubs" that have a great time every weekend without the meddling of administration. From my experience, for as much effort as it takes to get university funding for as little money you get, you're better off just holding a car wash. Hope this helps

  • The Case Against College Entitlements : Why We Don't Need More Public Funding For Higher Education President Barack Obama has declared that his administration aims to make college affordable to everyone by greatly expanding government aid to middle class families. The Washington Post says that Obama's higher education proposals, which include creating a brand new Pell Grant entitlement, "could transform the financial aid landscape for millions of students while expanding federal authority to a degree that even Democrats concede is controversial." But what if President Obama has it backwards? What if America is sending too many people to college? A recent study found that "Nationally, four-year colleges graduated an average of just 53% of entering students within six years." If 40 percent of students who enter college drop out before graduation and over 50 percent of students take six years to graduate, perhaps Obama is focusing on the wrong issue. Reason.tv's Michael C. Moynihan sat down with Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and the American Enterprise Institute's Charles Murray, author of the recent book Real Education, to ***yze how Obama's higher-education plans will impact the economic and cultural future of the United States. It is interesting to note that the term 'ivy league' originally referred not to academics but to sports. The original Ivy League brought together not minds, but football teams. That said, these eight universities have some educational and institutional traits in common beyond their athletics programs. All are long-established, highly selective private universities; all are in the Northeastern US; all benefit from sizeable endowments and generous alumni financial support; all are highly selective -- and all provide need blind aid that often make them less expensive than in-state public colleges. Is an Ivy League school right for you? If so, which one?

  • Montgomery College Commencement 2010 Montgomery College graduated its largest class of students ever in a ceremony held May 21, 2010 in Rockville, Maryland. Of the more than 2500 students who completed graduation requirements for associates degrees, apprenticeships or certificates, more than 750 students participated in the morning ceremony. The Montgomery College class of 2010 is diverse in age and experience. Most graduates attended Montgomery County Public Schools, but others attended high schools abroad or as far away as California. Some took alternative paths to college through homeschooling or by earning their General Equivalency Diplomas (GED). The oldest graduates were born during Harry Trumans presidency.
