The Chain - Fleetwood Mac 1979 Live on the Tusk Tour Footage from the famous tusk documentary. With lyrics from Stevie Nicks and music from the rest of the band, The Chain has become the anthem of Fleetwood Mac. The Chain is the never ending tie that bound the band together in the past and binds them together now and, hopefully, well into the future. Undoubtedly this song speaks volumes about bitter feelings, a wavering relationship, and the need to keep the links in the chain together. What is in doubt, however, is the focus of these lyrics. Did Stevie write The Chain as a way to vent her frustration and anger over her shattered relationship with Lindsey Buckingham, or is it a statement about the fragile links between the five members of Fleetwood Mac and their need to stay together for each other and for the sake of the band - or some of both? The Chain can easily be interpreted as the written expression of love, anger, hate and frustration toward Stevie and Lindsey's torn relationship and their inability to communicate and interact with each other on a daily basis. This can be found in the lyrics "listen to the wind blow, watch the sun rise" and "...down comes the night". " And if you don't love me now/ you will never love me again" could be a warning to Lindsey to be sure that breaking up is what he wants because he will never get another chance to love her, or simply that she knows their time is running out and she knew it was time to decide to stay together or go their separate ways. Alice In Chains Unplugged No Excuses Alice In Chains Unplugged. Track 3, No Excuses. It was recorded at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Majestic Theatre as part of the MTV Unplugged series of concerts and contains live, acoustic versions of the band's songs. The show first aired on MTV on May 28, 1996. The performance was Alice in Chain's first concert in two and a half years, as well as one of the band's final appearances with Layne Staley. In addition to the CD, a full length DVD of the concert was also released. The songs "Angry Chair," "Frogs," and "Killer Is Me" were cut from the original MTV broadcast but are included on both the CD and DVD releases. It is often hailed as one of the most memorable unplugged's ever, compared among the ranks of Nirvana, and KISS. Mike Inez's bass has the phrase "Friends Don't Let Friends Get Friends Haircuts," referencing the band Metallica, whose members had recently cut their hair prior to the release of Load.

'Giza' finds the band advancing into more exotic, outlandish territory, as well as fusing their earlier disco leanings with a faster-paced, more club-oriented approach, demonstrated in the arcade biker theme of 'Chains', haunted melody swirls of 'Storm Column' and 'Serpent', or the feverish, nightmare-ridden after-hours romp of 'Mirage'.
