What Separates Catholicism and Orthodoxy? This was the product of youthful exuberance, and it is to be taken as such. As I have learned more about the subject, I realise that my treatment of it at the time was simplistic. Nevertheless, I certainly agree with the spirit of my younger self, and I will keep this heartfelt appeal for Christian unity on the web. May they be one! (There is also a clarification I must make, and this as a Catholic: towards the end of the video, I made the appeal that the "Mystical Body of Christ" be reunited. This Mystical Body in its proper sense I confess to be the Catholic Church, and I confess that Church as still one and undivided, though among the baptised there remain divisions).
From Catholicism To Calvinism: Bad Fruit From A Bad Root Why did the great "reformers" feel the need to break away from the Catholic church? Was this reformation spiritually successful? What fruit did this movement produce, and to what root can we trace the fruit of those who embrace "reformed theology" today? Join Monica Dennington as she goes straight to God's Word to find out if it is possible to get good fruit from a bad root. __________________________________ John Calvin and Michael Servetus __________________________________ Michael Servetus was declared a heretic by the Catholic and Reformed Church alike, as well as by John Calvin. Calvin had him arrested in Geneva, composed a list of accusations against Servetus, and then the Protestant Geneva governing council condemned him to death by burning. The most vocal modern-day Calvinists choose to justify this action, instead of renouncing it as murder in the sight of God and reprehensible for a man claiming to be a Christian. For those who claim that Calvin had limited authority and little or no responsibility in this murder, please see the following excerpts: "Calvin wrote a letter...on 13 February 1547 noting that if Servetus were to come [to Geneva], he would not assure him safe conduct: "for if he came, as far as my authority goes, I would not let him leave alive."" ...and in a letter written by Calvin about a week after Servetus arrest: "I hope that sentence of death will at least be passed on him; but I desired that the severity of the punishment be mitigated ...
TBN: SELLS CATHOLIC STUFF! The Trinity Broadcasting Network [TBN] joins hands with the Roman Catholic system and their FALSE Gospel in promoting Rome's FALSE teachings. This type of thing has become the norm in this day of APOSTASY. Most Pastors remain silent and say nothing, and they refuse to CONTEND for the faith. There were tens of thousands (perhaps millions) of men and women who were slain because they stood against the false teachings of Roman Catholicism, and today, their doctrines still remain the same. In fact The Council of Vatican II, upheld over 100 anathemas (curses) against Bible believers such as myself (Glory to God) who disagree with their false teachings. It is incredible that the modern day "church" not only remains silent, but they are often found to be working "hand-in-hand" with the "church" of Rome! It is time to shout the warning again! Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (1 Timothy 4:1) Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. (Jude 1:3V)

Interview - Küng: Catholicism heading back to Middle-Ages A small town in southern Germany was the scene of a meeting of minds between two members of the Catholic church in the 1960s. Theologian Hans Küng invited his colleague Josef Ratzinger to Tübingen to teach at the university's Catholic faculty. Shocked by the student revolt of 1968 Ratzinger became increasingly conservative. He also became Pope Benedict XVI 4 decades later. His boss at the time, Hans Küng, went on to be described as the "super-star of European theology" becoming an arch-critic of church hierarchy, calling for an end to celibacy, and the acceptance of contraception. Küng and Ratzinger both took part in the second Vatican council, the biggest shake-up of the Catholic church of the 20th century, marking an overture to the modern world, and dialogue with other religions and convictions. But what does Küng think of the controversy stirred up recently by his former employee?

An excerpt from CATHOLICISM Here is a sneak peak at Episode 1 of Word On Fire's CATHOLICISM series by Father Robert Barron - due to be released in the Fall of 2011.
Of Catholicism and Capone There can be little doubt that had any other organization other than the Catholic church that was trusted with the care of children, for instance an orphanage, a school, or a daycare center, had been found to not only been abusing the children, but to swear the victims to secrecy, and then to move the molester to another center... there simply would be no debate about allowing the organization to conduct its own investigation and to impose its own 'punishments' of repentance. Both the individuals and the organization would be up on criminal charges before you could say knife. However for the Catholic Church, law enforcement seems powerless. The church simply says child molestation is evil, and that through true repentance can come renewal, or some equally nebulous BS, and the church gets away with such criminal acts- scot free! However even if institutionalized child molestation doesn't take the church down, it has been a huge blow to it's credibility. In that sense it's kind of like Al Capone being taken down for tax evasion. Especially given that the Pope has stated that he thinks that condoms actually increase the spread of HIV in sub-Saharan Africa!

Mr Fry's passionate and emotional speech is presented here in its entirety, along with his closing remarks. You can watch the entire debate, which runs about fifty minutes, by going to:

Babylonian Isis Worship in Catholicism The Babylonian roots of Roman Catholicism. Ancient pagan societies who ruled by the priestcraft of magic and sorcery had many pagan gods, but goddess worship such as ISIS in Egypt and DIANA of Greece was definitely one of their key goddesses, which later worked its way into the cult of Mary in Rome. The worship of Mary was never taught by the apostles of Christ, yet Roman Catholicism teaches this pagan idolatry. "The central fallacy of Mariolatry (also spelled Maryolatry) is that it assigns to Mary an unscriptural role of mediator between God and man. Within Catholicism, the 'Blessed Mother' is just one of many such go-betweens. However, the scriptures couldn't be any clearer on the subject of mediators between God and men. The apostle Paul exhorts the believers: 'For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;' (I Tim. 2:5); 'he is the mediator of the new testament.' (Heb. 9:15). 'Jesus the mediator of the new covenant,' (Heb. 12:24); 'by himself purged our sins' (Heb. 1:3). Jesus Christ himself said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' (John 14:6). Nowhere in the scriptures is there a single example of the disciples or the apostles praying to Mary or any other deceased saint. Jesus said, I am the door of the sheep. And, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. (John 10:1,7). (It is interesting to note that the ...

Catholicism vs Christianity By Mike Gendron Is Catholicism a valid expression of Christianity? Is there such a thing as an "Evangelical Catholic", or is that expression an oxymoron? Should Evangelicals and Catholics cooperate in evangelistic efforts? Do Evangelicals and Catholics rely on the same source of authority? Do both believe and proclaim the same Gospel? These and many other questions concerning the relationship between Catholicism and true Christianity are addressed in this riveting interview of Evangelist Mike Gendron. Mike was born and raised in the Catholic Church. For over 30 years he believed and taught from the sacraments, good works, law keeping, the sacrifice of the Mass, indulgences, purgatory, and penance. During that time he was a businessman serving a Fortune 500 company. When Mike discovered the pure and simple Gospel of the New Testament, his life was transformed. He quit his business carrer, entered Dallas Theological Seminary, and ultimately formed an evangelistic ministry to reach Catholics called Proclaiming the Gospel (www.pro-). Today he is in great demand all across America and around the world as a speaker who is an expert defender of the faith. Dr. David R. Buddy Christ - Scene from Dogma Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen, the driving force behind Catholicism, wow, Cardinal Glick. Cardinal Glick: Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now we all know how the majority and the media in this country view the Catholic church. They think of us as a passe, archaic institution. People find the Bible obtuse... even hokey. Now in an effort to disprove all that the church has appointed this year as a time of renewal... both of faith and of style. For example, the crucifix. While it has been a time honored symbol of our faith, Holy Mother Church has decided to retire this highly recognizable, yet wholly depressing image of our Lord crucified. Christ didn't come to Earth to give us the willies... He came to help us out. He was a booster. And it is with that take on our Lord in mind that we've come up with a new, more inspiring sigil. So it is with great pleasure that I present you with the first of many revamps the "Catholicism WOW. " campaign will unveil over the next year. I give you... The Buddy Christ. Now that's not the sanctioned term we're using for the symbol, just something we've been kicking around the office, but look at it. Doesn't it... pop? Buddy Christ... disclaimer: this is not my video, is from Kevin Smith's Dogma (go and rent it, or, even better, buy it, awesome movie).
