  • The Foulk Monster, The Legend of Boggy Creek, Arkansas Bigfoot sighting Opening clip from 'The Legend of Boggy Creek', a 1970s docudrama about the 'Fouke Monster', a Bigfoot-type creature that has been seen in and around Fouke, Arkansas since the 1950s. The film mixes staged interviews with some local residents who claim to have encountered the creature, along with fictitious reenactments of said encounters. Charles B. Pierce, an advertising salesman from Texarkana on the Arkansas/Texas border, borrowed over $100000 from a local trucking company, used an old movie camera and hired locals to help make the 90-minute film. It has generated approximately $20 million in revenue and can now be found on DVD. The film, based on a true story, sets out to detail the existence of the 'Fouke Monster', a bigfoot-like creature that has reportedly been seen by residents of a small Arkansas community since the 1950s. It is described as having a foul odor, completely covered in reddish-brown hair and having three toes and also known by leaving tracks found in beanfields. Several locals from the small town of Fouke, Arkansas recall their stories, often appearing as themselves, claiming that the creature has killed several large hogs as well as other animals. In one scene, a kitten is shown as having been "scared to death" by the creature. The narrator informs us that while people have shot at the creature in the past, it has always managed to escape. In another scene, hunters attempt to pursue the creature with dogs, but the dogs refuse to give chase. A police ...

  • Muddy Boggy Banjo Man (cover) This song has been sitting in the back of my head for a very long time. I finally made an attempt to record it. Im not 100% satisfied with it, but its close enough. Ray Wylie Hubbard wrote Muddy Boggy Banjo Man. It was made famous by Larry Groce. Larry released his famous hit Junk Food Junkie on a 45 rpm record in 1975 or 1976, and Muddy Boggy Banjo Man was the song on the flip side. I still have my original 45 rpm record in a box somewhere. When I was 12 years old, I thought it was a cool song, and it was one of the first, I learned to play after I learned how to finger pick a guitar. I have seen the Muddy Boggy Creek in Southeastern Oklahoma, so it actually exists. I have never claimed to be a singer, but I did try to sing with myself during the chorus (for what its worth). I tuned down ½ step for this song. I recorded and mixed 6 tracks on my Tascam DP-008 multi-track recorder. Two acoustic rhythm tracks, one using my Fender 140SCE finger picked thru an Acoustic AG30 amp, another track strumming using my Fender Telecoustic, a bass track using my Squier P-Bass thru a GK Backline 110, two vocal tracks using a Shure SM-58 run thru a Behringer Xenyx 1202FX board thru an original Peavey MP-4 PA, and a hand percussion track. The video is of the original scratch track and is laid over the final mixed audio track; so if it doesnt line up perfectly, dont beat me up too bad. Hope you like it, and thanks for watching.
  • "Visiting the Boggy Bayou" Lroff's photos around Niceville, FL, United States A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Niceville, FL, United States by TravelPod blogger Lroff titled "Visiting the Boggy Bayou" Lroff's travel blog entry: "I had a brief breakfast in the courtyard area outside, reclaimed my car from the hotel valet and made my way out of town 240 odd miles south to Niceville. Again, quite blown away by the evident damage in vast areas of the city. In places, I imagine people will never come back. In others (churches, for example), the buildings may reopen but the congregants or customers may not be there to support them. As my heel was still really hurting, I stopped off in Slidell, just outside of New Orleans and very badly hit by Katrina. Again, buildings and businesses trying to open up but may not have the people to support them. I went into a "Winn Dixie" grocery chain that had a pharmacy and bought two self cooling ice packs and an elastic wrap for my heel. I could have taken the scenic route along highway 90 through Gulf towns such as Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, Biloxi, Pascagoula; however, given that the whole area was a vast wasteland of palm trees cut off at about the 3 foot level and leftover trash from houses and buildings that were no more, I thought it best if I simply carried on along Interstate 10 and into Alabama briefly. I'd been trying to take a picture of a Magnolia flower since I first got into Mississippi and strangely enough, the tourist stop in Alabama was the first place I found a photographable one ...

We saw a bald eagle (at a distance in one of the trees), and an alligator (at a distance up one of the c***s); all I can say is, our tour guide/boat captain has super sharp eyes! Talking to him after the trip, and he says it never gets old; but he feels bad when a trip doesn't result in a 'gator *and* an eagle sighting... I know he worked hard to find the critters for us. :-) Skimming the water on that airboat was an absolute blast, too. :D Back at the dock, we learned a lot about alligators and got to hold one... wow, was his skin soft!
  • TRAILER- "Boggy Creek II: The Legend Continues" Directed by CHARLES B. PIERCE This is the RARE theatrical trailer for "The Barbaric Beast of Boggy Creek: Part II" (aka Boggy Creek II). Famed independent filmmaker, Charles B. Pierce, passed away on Friday, March 5th. Pierce directed numerous regional films throughout his sorted career, but is most famous for the 1972 faux-documentary, "THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK" (which is often sited as the inspiration for "THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT"). His other films include "BOOTLEGGERS" (1974), "THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN" (1977), "GRAYEAGLE" (1977), "THE NORSEMAN" (1978), "THE EVICTORS" (1979), and "BOGGY CREAK 2" (1985). Pierce was also a prominent screenwriter. In 1983, he wrote the first draft for the DIRTY HARRY film, "SUDDEN IMPACT". I strongly urge cult film fans to seek out his films. They are truly a product of their time... and deserve a place in film history.

  • The Legend of Boggy Creek A 1970s documentary-style drama questions the existence of a hairy 7ft tall Sasquatch-type monster that lives in a swap outside of Fouke, Arkansas. According to the locals the monster walks on two feet, has a characteristic smelly odor and kills chicken, cattle, dogs and livestock but so far it hasn't killed any people. The monster supposedly harassed two families in the late 1960s, but since then few have seen the monster yet it can be heard in the swap at night. Actual interviews with area residents tell the tale. Could this be real of a conspiracy of a backwoods community looking for attention? For more info about this movie or to buy the DVD, visit
