Miles' brief included playing up the role of the individual activist in local campaigns which is why the word 'I' occurs so frequently, belying the swell of local community support for our campaign to prevent or reduce building over the VJA The developer was eventually permitted to build on just one third of the site in return for laying out allotments and playing fields on what remained. On 12 June 2010 the new Victoria Jubilee Allotments - 79 x 200 square metre plots - were opened for selection by those who'd placed their names on a short list to select their plot.
