Dogfights: The Zero Killer Part 2 The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a carrier-based fighter aircraft developed to replace the earlier F4F Wildcat in United States Navy service. Although the F6F bore a family resemblance to the Wildcat, it was a completely new design powered by a 2000 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800. Some tagged it as the "Wildcat's big brother".[2] The Hellcat and the Vought F4U Corsair were the primary USN fighters during the second half of World War II. SudoGlove - Gesture-Based Hardware Control SudoGlove aims to bridge the gap between the user and traditional physical hardware devices. Given the high learning curve in understanding how to use foreign technologies, we hope to break away from conventional control mechanisms and explore an intuitive way to control these devices. SudoGlove will provide a tangible interface that relies on hand gestures to wirelessly control any device or software. By removing the distance between the user and traditional hardware devices, our goal is for SudoGlove to feel more like an extension of the body as opposed to an external machine. As an investigation into this idea, the goal of this project is to capture simple hand gestures from the SudoGlove and use that input to wirelessly control a modified RC car. At the moment, controlled variables include speed, steering, headlights, siren lights, siren sounds, the horn, and forward/reverse using a combination of flex, force, vibration, and gyroscopic sensors. It was first performed in Paris, at the Opéra-Comique, on February 10, 1881. The libretto was written by Jules Barbier, based on three short stories by ETA Hoffmann. ETA Hoffmann himself is a character in the opera just as he often is in his stories. The stories upon which the opera is based are Der Sandmann,Rath Krespel, and Das verlorene Spiegelbild. The opera contains a prologue, three acts and an epilogue. Offenbach did not live to see his opera performed, since he died on October 5, 1880, just over four months before its premiere. Before his death, Offenbach had completed the piano score and orchestrated the prologue and the first act. Since he did not entirely finish the writing, many different versions of this opera emerged, some bearing little resemblance to the original work. The version performed at the opera's premiere was that by Ernest Guiraud, who completed Offenbach's scoring and wrote the recitatives.
