  • Example of Modifying a Trade Based on Price Action This video comes from a member of , advfn2828 (Graeme). Graeme, a forex daytrader, shares with us a short USDCAD trade he placed based on a 15 minute chart. He entered the trade based on textbook technical ***ysis and money management -- but in the midst of the trade, he saw price action and news releases that suggested the trade would go against him. As a result, this is an example of how daytraders can interpret price action to astutely modify their trades. Graeme's blog
  • It's all about children (or at least the anatomical possibility thereof). A response in particular to the TheAtheistAntidote's video "Gay Marriage NO; Respect YES", and more generally to all those who make the procreation-centric (or anatomical) argument in favor of the state's exclusively privileging hetero***ual marriage. The procreation-centric (or anatomical) argument destroys rather than strengthens the foundation for the exclusive privileging of hetero***ual marriage. How odd that those who identify themselves as defenders of marriage would rely on an argument that destroys it. But, as Jonathan Rauch astutely observes, these folks are so fixated on preventing homo***uals from getting the legal right to marry that if marriage itself is a casualty of their battle, the self-styled defenders seem to say, "So be it!" Links: Jonathan Rauch's essay "For Better Or Worse? The Case for Gay (and Straight) Marriage" -- TheAtheistAntidote's video -- NB: For those who argue that the state should not be in the marriage business -- a position with which I am not unsympathetic -- please note that *that* is not the subject of this video. Rather, this video is a refutation of a particular argument for the state's exclusive privileging of hetero***ual marriage. Thanks.
  • Exploring The Logic Of US Congressman Barney Frank Here is the link to the townhall meeting video: The Memo: Ok, you probably all think; what is wrong with what he says in the first clip?. Well its quite simple really. He is replying to the most astutely inept person I have ever seen. If you want to check out the whole video, check the video description box out for the link. Anyway, so hes replying to this lady who I dont think has an education beyond Jr. High, and he definitely makes her look like so. Thing is, anyone can do that without me having a problem, until someone comes along like good ole jolly Mr. Frank here, who believes he is of a higher intellectual status, than everyone else in the room. I mean, come on, listen to how he speaks, the words he uses, and you can tell. A moron will sit there ranting and raving using ridiculous ***ogies and big words, so A) the opposition is dumb-founded upon initial reaction and B) the politically coherent audience is awestruck at that ability. No, big words dont necessarily make you cool, or smart. Anyone can go to , or . Now whats wrong with number two? I mean, you guys probably think, cmon, we all know there are plenty of rich people out there to tax, I mean, seriously!?. Well, that is playing into the failed agenda of the democratic party. Redistributing the wealth. That money solely belongs to that person. When you are in control of such a personal component like money in todays world, you cant object that it is socialistic. It ...

  • [Arthaus 101065] GIULINI, Carlo Maria: In Rehearsal Recorded in Stuttgart, 1997. A portrait of Carlo Maria Giulini this month - the enigmatic Italian conductor who found success in both the opera house and the concert hall. Modest, reserved, and unruled by ambition, Giulini's interpretations are refined and precise, marked by rich string textures and a lyrical warmth. Like a considerable number of his conductor colleagues, Carlo Maria Giulini also began his career as an instrumentalist. Born in Italy on May 9, 1914, he studied viola and composition at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome before going on to study conducting with Bernardino Molinari. He has worked with several generations of musicians over the course of his long career and his repertoire comprises all the great symphonic and operatic works. Documented by many recordings, Giulini's outstanding talent turns his performances into milestones of interpretation, as one critic has astutely observed. In this absorbing programme, we witness the creation of one of these milestones as we observe Giulini rehearsing Anton Bruckner's Ninth Symphony with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra. The DVD also includes the work's concert performance. (Arthaus 101065) More Info.:
  • Rivington Pike Lancashire Written records of 'Roun Pike' stretch back to 1280, though it is entirely feasible the Pike became part of England's integral beacon defence network over a century earlier under the instigation of the Earl of Chester after the Scottish raids of 1138. The beacon on the Pike was certainly fired in July, 1588, when the Spanish Armada had been sighted off English shores. Fifty years previously, Leland, a chronicler for Henry VIII, recorded he had passed the hill 'Faierlokke', though he astutely reported the local variation: "communley the people thereabout caullith it Rivenpike". Wood was gathered there in the early 18th century over ill-founded fears of a French invasion, and fires continued to be lit after the building of the Tower - most recently for the Coronation of King George V in 1910, then to mark the end of the First World War in 1918. It is possible to see that over many centuries Rivington Pike has rarely seen a period without human activity. Whilst the Tower has attracted visitors for nearly three hundred years and the Pike Fair for at least two hundred - with a cooling off period in the 1830s for drunken, riotous behaviour over the Easter weekend - flint chippings found on the summit suggest an earlier, prehistoric significance. The Pike holds an annual fair every Good Friday where many brave the winds and scale the steep ascent to the summit, whilst their children roly-poly back down towards the burger vans and balloon sellers that have pitched themselves into ...

  • Orange - Judy Over The Rainbow First there was The GREEN TAMBOURINES - a band formed round the prodigious talents of RICK CORCORAN. They played some memorable gigs around London but their guitar pop was out of step & time with the Acid house, ecstasy driven scene of the early '90s and they split after 18 months. Shortly after, Rick was offered some studio time based on demos he'd written but the deal involved having a band so he hastily formed ORANGE and this led to Chrysalis Records releasing an amazing EP called Judy Over The Rainbow b/w Disposable & Bed. Cool radio stations picked up on it and it got quite a lot of airplay. Deservedly so, because it was considered by all right thinking Pop fans as being one of the very best records of its kind to come from an English band for a long time. ORANGE also did a couple of radio sessions and played live a few times but internal stresses caused the band to fold shortly afterwards. Weary of bands and big record labels, Rick went back to making demos helped out by old mates from The Green Tambourines, Tam Johnstone and Tim McTighe. Eventually a small Japanese label got to hear them and very astutely put out an album in 1996 under the name, THE ORGONE BOX. Unfortunately it was only released in Japan and even then it got precious little attention. Whether it was deleted fast or the label went bust is unclear but whatever, it went unnoticed in the big wide world, and Rick's astonishing talent remained unheard.
  • March Early Spring Trap Out Got a call about a swarm but when got there the homeowner said bees entered house next day w/ pollen. Seen few drones so wonder if was really a swarm or a mother hive. Went about setting up scaffolding & then searched out some brood comb (w/ a possible queen included) to use in the bait/ lure hive. Set thet bait hive aside on site & then started caulking up cracks & reinforcing the weak points w/ sandwiched aluminum foil & caulk. Afixed a porters bee escape to masonite & after all cracks were sealed placed bee escape on the entrance/ exit. Homeowner came by near early evening when I was watching the bee escape & he astutely noticed bee escape was not effective. I took it off & sure enough the metal flaps inside were tweaked allowing bees to get back in. Had to go to Honey Company & get more bee escapes for this tight fitting location. Placed new bee escape & seen in this video the many bees now being trapped out & smelling the Lang Deep as new home.

  • Authors@Google: Jonathan Safran Foer Celebrated novelist Foer (Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, 2005, etc.) examines the ethics and practical realities of eating things with faces. The book is a surprising but characteristically brilliant memoir-investigation, boasting an exhaustively-argued account of one man's decade-long struggle with vegetarianism. On the eve of becoming a father, Foer takes all the arguments for and against vegetarianism a neurotic step beyond and, to decide how to feed his coming baby, investigates everything from the intelligence level of our most popular meat providers-cattle, pigs, and poultry-to the specious self-justifications (his own included) for eating some meat products and not others. Foer offers a lighthearted counterpoint to his investigation in doting portraits of his loving grandmother, and her meat-and-potatoes comfort food, leaving him to wrestle with the comparative weight of food's socio-cultural significance and its economic-moral-political meaning. Without pulling any punches-factory farming is given the full expose treatment as well. Foer combines an array of facts, astutely-written anecdotes, and his furious, inward-spinning energy to make a personal, highly entertaining take on an increasingly visible, moral question. • "Stick Fly" at Arena Stage By Lydia R. Diamond, Directed by Kenny Leon January 1 - February 7, 2010 at Arena Stage in Crystal City Race and privilege intersect in this thought-provoking and lively modern family comedy. One lazy summer weekend, Kent LeVay invites his fiancée, Taylor, to meet his parents at their luxurious Martha's Vineyard summer home. Taylor, under the microscope and unaccustomed to the surrounding wealth, challenges the household dynamic. The family ties rapidly unravel when Kent's womanizing older brother surprises everyone with his white girlfriend. Conflict and dysfunction ensue as the household vigorously airs their long-secret dirty linens along with the drapes. Be a fly on the wall as this exciting new American voice, playwright Lydia Diamond (The Bluest Eye), astutely examines African-American social aristocracy in a work called "an impressively ambitious play" (Chicago Tribune) and "a refreshingly vital story about relationships and richly complex characters" (Variety).

  • Passenger Side - Official Trailer (OLD VERSION) ** THIS IS THE OLD TRAILER for PASSENGER SIDE - - written and directed by Matt Bissonnette (Looking For Leonard, Who Loves the Sun), starring Adam Scott, Joel Bissonnette and Robin Tunney, and featuring songs from the Silver Jews, Leonard Cohen, Dinosaur Jr., Wilco, and many more. ABOUT THE FILM Michael Brown's (ADAM SCOTT) birthday begins with a telephone call from his estranged, drug addicted brother Tobey (JOEL BISSONNETTE). Tobey is totally unaware that it is his older brother's birthday, but he is very aware that his car is broken, and he begs Michael to drive him on various apparently legitimate, vital errands. As Bruce Springs*** has astutely noted, "a man who turns his back on his family just ain't no good", and so Michael puts off his seemingly romantic birthday plans, and with his brother embarks on a sketchy, meandering day long odyssey though the mysteries of Los Angeles County. As the day wears on, it becomes clear that this drive will lead them to some very unexpected destinations. JOIN US ON FACEBOOK: FOLLOW US ON TWITTER:

  • UGANDA 2011 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS: JUSTIN ZINDA INTERVIEWS MR LUBEGA UGANDA 2011 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS -- JUSTIN ZINDA INTERVIEWS MR LUBEGA Mr Lubega, an independent presidential candidate, is one of eight candidates in the forthcoming Uganda 2011 Presidential elections. He came to London last Saturday 20/11/2010 to address a group Ugandans in Diaspora here in the United Kingdom. Mr Lubega is building his campaign around the theme of change and his logo reads, 'Defenders of peace and justice'. He pledges to deliver genuine change that Ugandans can trust. It is in light of this attractive campaign theme that I focused my questions to Mr Lubega during the interview. Firstly, I asked Mr Lubega what type of change he intends to bring to Ugandans, in particular, and people of Great Lakes, in general. Mr Lubeka, who is an outspoken and intelligent individual, astutely started by highlighting to me what his harsh rival, President Museveni, is doing in Uganda. He characterised Museveni's regime as a 'monolithic, one-family republican monarch'. Mr Lubega claims that Museveni has been ruling the country almost single-handedly with a small group of people from his closest entourage and mainly his close family members. Museveni has used fear as a weapon to rule Uganda in a dictatorial manner. Mr Lubega promised to end this abuse of power and he vowed to have a transparent government of the people for the people. However, it was not clear what specific steps Mr Lubega would take to avoid becoming another 'Museveni'. I put to him the following question ...
  • The Rider Named Death / Всадник по имени Смерть see more Russian movies at The Rider Named Death, 4 September 2005 Author: Matthew Janovic (myboigie@) from United States Indeed, the Russian film industry is not dead! Karen Shakhnazarov's take on the novel by Boris Savinkov, who could be equated with the main-character "Georges", is nearly-flawless! Evoking Moscow during the 1905 Revolution, we are given access to the very secret world of a terrorist-cell. It is unlikely, and Shakhnazarov's film illustrates this, that terrorism has changed much at-all. From the lushness of Tsarist-circles, to the beggars in the alleys of Moscow, it's a vivid recreation of a time that is gone--and yet still alive with Chechen-bombings in Russia. The director notes astutely how minor acts of violence accumulate into a bloodbath. The Revolution of 1917 (February by the Social Democrats, then October by the Bolsheviks) began what would be a civil war that didn't really end until Stalin's consolidation of power in the late-1930s. Tens-of-millions died, and it all began with the Socialist Revolutionary Party. In some respects, the SR's were a party whose members were more reactionary and radical than the Bolsheviks under Lenin, then Stalin. Shakhnazarov's eye for composition is wonderful, and there are sweeping crane-shots, dollies, and a great mixture of static ones too. Most-importantly, however, are the close-shots that capture the intimacy of the cell and its inhabitants. The history of Russian film is ...
  • Republic: The Future (Trailer) Redefining patriotism: trailer for a DVD of selected proceedings of the Republic Annual General meeting and Conference held on the 28th of October 2006 at the University of Westminster. The DVD was produced without a budget, and speculatively on the basis of projected sales. It was a sympathetic treatment of the British movement for an elected head of state. The disk featured excerpts from the presentations of five of the speakers appearing on the day, and could still be instructive to those wanting to make an informed decision about whether to join or contribute to Republic. Topics include the role of former Prime Minister Tony Blair in leading debate about constitutional reform, and Republic's purpose, present structure, and strategy. Two guest speakers approached the concept of a British republic from contrasting if somewhat predictable standpoints: A former editor of the New Statesman astutely impugned royal symbolism and the intransigence of monarchists, while a Queen's Counsel (Barrister) spoke about the value of acknowledging or retaining traditions. Selected comments from short interviews with members were included. Opinion was canvassed during the meeting and members articulated both their reasons for supporting a British republic, and their perceptions of the Royal family. Some interesting observations were recorded. An important question regarding possible action at the time of accession was posed from the floor and answered by three of the speakers. Since one ...

  • 6/9 Howard Zinn: You Can't Be Neutral on a Moving Train www.warez- In this galvanizing documentary, professor Howard Zinn recounts his life as a writer, educator, and leader in nonviolent social protest. His story is one of being in "the right place at the right time," from poor beginnings, working in shipyard unions, fighting in WWII as a bomber pilot, and then launching his academic career as one of the first white professors to teach at the historically black Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. He helped spark the civil rights protest there, and soon moved to Boston College where he became a key figure in organizing anti-Vietnam protests. The historical span of the film concludes with Zinn protesting the war on Iraq. Known as the author of the best-selling A PEOPLE'S HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES, Zinn is a charismatic, well-spoken man whose devotion to telling the truth about America--and working to set things right--is inspiring. Viewers may come away from this film ready to grab a picket sign and head off to the nearest rally. The documentary captures a year in Zinn's life, including his winning of the 2003 Prix des Amis du Monde diplomatique. Testimonials from the likes of Alice Walker (a student of Zinn's at Spelman) and Noam Chomsky put his contributions to the peace and civil rights movements in a broader perspective. Matt Damon narrates and the score includes songs by Woody Guthrie, Billy Bragg, and Eddie Vedder.

And as kayaj2k once astutely observed on TWoP, "Sometimes even the antagonistic moments between those two have ***ual under-currents, like the scene from Promises where Chiana gets right up in Sikozu's face and spits out that she's nothing but cargo... It's kind of heartbreaking to see Chi projecting her own inner demons like that, no doubt so savage here because of her rape. She's hurting and struggling with feelings of shame and worthlessness, and she throws all that on the newest female crew member." A Pip's Palace favorite from Season 4, Episode 5: Promises
  • Super Mario Bros. X (SMBX) Custom Level: Pao Pao Island Hey everyone, this is your three-day treat while I'm off in Arkansas helping with tornado cleanup. I made this level using the SMBX engine. I downloaded it after watching Raocow's LP of The Invasion 2, the pack-in game that comes with the engine. Unfortunately, the game and engine are no longer available for download from the main site, but I'm sure you can find it somewhere if your Google-fu is strong. As a level editor, I like SMBX much better than Lunar Magic. Raocow astutely observed that SMBX is geared more toward amateur level designers who aren't so much into programming and just like playing around with GUIs (like me), whereas Lunar Magic is more for the expert programmer. I'd like to approach that observation from a different angle and say that what I like most about SMBX is that it forces you to make levels that are fun rather than hard. You can't save-state during test runs or the game proper, which means it's easier to focus on making a level entertaining (as many in The Invasion 2 are) rather than making it Nintendo-hard and filling it with Kaizo traps. Anyway, enjoy.
  • VISITING THE LINCOLNS Abraham & Mary Todd Lincoln Program Michael Krebs and Debra Ann Miller portray President Abraham Lincoln and First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln in this 60 minute play. The audience are unexpected guests at the executive mansion. Laurence Bommer, Chicago Reader theatre critic described the play as "astutely balancing good humor with the bleak imminence of a terrible crime. Krebs prairie accent and attacks of melancholy, Millers alternately genteel and hysterical Mary Todd, and the period-perfect script ensure that all disbelief remains suspended". Offered as education program, assembly, and special event program. More information about this program is available at
