  • THC Kills Glioma Cancer Cells - Medical Miracles from Europe April 4, 2008 - Before speaking to the 5th Clinical Conference on Cannabis Therapeutics in Pacific Grove, CA, Deputy Director of NORML Paul Armentano talks about new science on Cannabis (marijuana) and the Endo-Cannabinoid system being done in Europe, while American cancer patients, many with tragic cases of Glioma brain tumors, seek any news of an alternative therapy. Paul references the work of Dr. Manuel Guzman, Madrid, who has seen THC kill brain cancer cells while leaving surrounding tissue unharmed, demonstating the neuroprotectant properties of Cannabinoids. Then Paul is joined by Dr. David Bearman, of Galeta, CA, who tells of the fear that patients feel when encountering an cancer like Glioma. Paul has collected the latest research on medical Cannabis, available in a PDF or booklet at: We also talk about Cannabis in the treatment of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and the documentary I'm doing on Cathy Jordan, a medical marijuana patient who has survived ALS for 22 years now! • dying of cancer, why not go for the cure? as sampled from opra and dr OZ BUT why not cure it The term medical marijuana took on dramatic new meaning in February, 2000 when researchers in Madrid announced they had destroyed incurable brain tumors in rats by injecting them with THC, the active ingredient in cannabis. Most Americans don't know anything about the Madrid discovery. Virtually no major US newspapers carried the story, which ran only once on the AP and UPI news wires, on Feb. 29, 2000. The ominous part is that this isn't the first time scientists have discovered that THC shrinks tumors. In 1974 researchers at the Medical College of Virginia, who had been funded by the National Institute of Health to find evidence that marijuana damages the immune system, found instead that THC slowed the growth of three kinds of cancer in mice -- lung and breast cancer, and a virus-induced leukemia. The DEA quickly shut down the Virginia study and all further cannabis/tumor research, according to Jack Herer, who reports on the events in his book, "The Emperor Wears No Clothes." In 1976 President Gerald Ford put an end to all public cannabis research and granted exclusive research rights to major pharmaceutical companies, who set out -- unsuccessfully -- to develop synthetic forms of THC that would deliver all the medical benefits without the "high." • Warning on Cutaneous Vasculitic Toxicities with Hydroxyurea Bristol-Myers Squibb is notifying healthcare professionals about new safety information for the company's hydroxyurea capsules, sold under the brand names Hydrea and Droxia. Hydrea is used as an antineoplastic agent and Droxia is approved for treating certain patients with sickle cell anemia. Cutaneous vasculitic toxicities, including vasculitic ulcerations and gangrene, have occurred in patients with myeloproliferative disorders who are being treated with hydroxyurea. These events occurred most often in patients who were currently receiving interferon or had a history of interferon therapy. Because of the risk of severe outcomes, hydroxyurea should be discontinued in patients with myeloproliferative disease who develop cutaneous vasculitic ulcerations. The company letter also emphasizes how important it is to handle the drug safely. In order to minimize dermal exposure, always wear impervious gloves when handling bottles containing Hydrea or Droxia capsules. That includes unpacking and inspecting the bottles, transporting the drug within the facility, and preparing and administering the doses. Patients and caregivers should wear disposable gloves when handling hydroxyurea or the bottles that contain the capsules. They should wash their hands before and after contact with the bottle and capsules. If powder in the capsule is spilled, it should be wiped up immediately with a damp disposable towel and discarded in a closed container, such as a plastic bag.

  • Cancer Solution So there has been many studies proving that cannabis can slow down and reduce cancer and tumor cells from spreading. So why is it still illegal? A 1975 report by cancer and health administrations saying that THC (the main active ingredient in marijuana) when inhaled or ingested can help reduce and remove the spreading of cancer and tumor cells. The government has known the cure since 1975 and yet they keep it illegal on a federal level and out of the hands of dying citizens. The government is corrupt. Find out the truth.

  • Glioma Research and Marijuana Glioma Research (click more for details) A review of the modern scientific literature reveals numerous preclinical studies and one pilot clinical study demonstrating cannabinoids' ability to act as antineoplastic agents, particularly on glioma cell lines. Writing in the September 1998 issue of the journal FEBS Letters, investigators at Madrid's Complutense University, School of Biology, first reported that delta-9-THC induced apoptosis (programmed cell death) in glioma cells in culture.[1] Investigators followed up their initial findings in 2000, reporting that the administration of both THC and the synthetic cannabinoid agonist WIN 55212-2 "induced a considerable regression of malignant gliomas" in animals.[2] Researchers again confirmed cannabinoids' ability to inhibit tumor growth in animals in 2003.[3] That same year, Italian investigators at the University of Milan, Department of Pharmacology, Chemotherapy and Toxicology, reported that the non-psychoactive cannabinoid, cannabidiol (CBD), inhibited the growth of various human glioma cell lines in vivo and in vitro in a dose dependent manner. Writing in the November 2003 issue of the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics Fast Forward, researchers concluded, "Non-psychoactive CBD ... produce[s] a significant anti-tumor activity both in vitro and in vivo, thus suggesting a possible application of CBD as an antineoplastic agent."[4] To see this text in full: _______________ The Author: For ...
