- Halo 3 Albuquerque Please read the description! The original song is about 11 minutes 20 seconds long but youtube had a ten minute limit at the time this was posted. In order to get the video to upload I had to cut out some empty bits of the song. Hopefully it won't be too obvious. The song is Albuquerque by Weird Al Yankovic. When I was about half way through making this video I realized how crazy this video is, but at the same time I was already halfway done and if I didn't' finish the video it would be wasted effort. Anyway as you can see in this video I've really put that photoshop class to use. About 40 percent of the video is silly effects with images and editing. But in the end I think it's a pretty good video considering the absurdity of the song. I hope you enjoy! PS I got a new video capture device so now this video is high quality and wide screen! - "Weird Al" Yankovic - Albuquerque Way back, when I was just a little bitty boy, living in a box under the stairs in the corner of the basement of the house half a block down the street from Jerry's Bait Shop... you know the place. Well, anyway, back then, life was going swell and everything was just peachy. Except, of course, for the undeniable fact that every single morning, my mother would make me a big ol' bowl of sauerkraut for breakfast. Every single morning. It was driving me crazy. I said to my mom, I said "Hey, Mom, what's up with all the sauerkraut?" And my dear sweet mother, she just looked at me like a cow looks at an upcoming train. And she leaned right down next to me, and she said: "IT'S GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!" And then she tied me to the wall and stuck a funnel in my mouth and force-fed me nothing but sauerkraut until I was 26 and a half years old. That's when I swore that someday, I would get outta that basement and travel to a magical, far-away place, where the sun is always shining and the air smells like warm root beer, and the towels are oh-so-fluffy. Where the shriners and the lepers play their ukeleles all day long and anyone on the street will gladly shave your back for a nickel. Well, let me tell you, people, it wasn't long at all before my dream came true! Because the very next day, a local radio station had this contest to see who could correctly guess the number of molecules in Leonard Nimoy's butt. I was off my three, but I still won the grand prize! That's right, a first-class ...

- Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival Fiesta, New Mexico The most photographed fiesta in the world! The Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Festival. This weeklong festival starts with Dawn Patrol. These Dawn Patrol balloons are sent up early (4 in the morning before the mass ascension to check out the conditions and kick off the fest. It is truly an amazing site to behold. You cant even imagine what it is like to stand beneath hundreds of huge balloons when they take to the skies. This even is something that has been on my bucket list for years. I am happy to share a little bit of it here, but nothing can take the place of actually being there. I was breath-taken a few times, and was choked up. It is really something and a very special family event too! If you are ever near this festival GO TO IT! I swear you wont regret it!
- UNM Students being attacked at an Israel Alliance event on campus UNM STUDENTS ASSUALTED AT PUBLIC EVENT ON CAMPUS On February 23rd during a public lecture by Nonie Darwish, members of the audience assaulted a number of UNM students. The public lecture, which began at 7PM in the Anthropology lecture hall, was attend by some UNM students who exercised their right to freedom of speech by vocally protesting the against the opinions put forward by Darwish. When the students raised their voices a number of audience members proceeded to get out of their seats and use force against the students. One of the students was hit in the face, another had her hair pulled, and many were pushed and shoved. One of the students caught much of these events on film before another audience member forcibly pushed down her camera. The students were then forced out of the auditorium and quickly called the UNM police who arrived and filed a report. These students were assaulted on UNM campus for simply trying to make their voices heard and it is a shock that a non-violent action was met with such aggression. STATEMENT FROM UNM STUDENTS FOR JUSTICE IN PALESTINE: SJP expresses gratitude to groups across the nation and the world who have shown their support for UNM Students for Justice in Palestine(SJP) and the students and members of (Un)Occupy Albuquerque who were brave enough to actively reject the normalization of Islamophobia and human rights violations. Though SJP was not a part of the planning process, we fully support the Mic-Check of Nonie Darwish's ...
- Humanitarian Crises - A Path Forward: bone preview installation in New Mexico The newest Students Rebuild challenge, "A Path Forward," invites you to take a collective stand against humanitarian crises by making a bone—out of material you choose—as part of a participatory arts project to cover the National Mall in Washington, DC with 1000000 handmade bones. This simple gesture of unity and hope will have a powerful visual impact, generate critical funds, raise awareness, and help rebuild lives in Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These handmade bones can help raise $500000! Each handmade bone will generate $1 in matching funds from the Bezos Family Foundation for CARE International, a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty—up to $500000. And, throughout this school year, A Path Forward will also offer students a way to connect directly with relief workers on the ground, their peers in Somalia and the DRC, and other challenge participants through live webcasts, video conferences, field blogs and more. This video, produced by One Million Bones, offers a snapshot of the 50000 bone preview installation in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that brought together a community on August 27, 2011.
